Notes

Character Creation and Role Assignment

The group established detailed character stats and roles based on classic D20 Star Wars rules to define unique team identities and strategic options (05:14).

  • Ben Milton chose a human Fringer with 12 strength, 7 dexterity, 14 constitution, 14 intelligence, 8 wisdom, and 10 charisma, aiming for a leadership path within the soldier class but settling on Fringer for better fit with his stats (10:05).

    • The high constitution and intelligence support a durable, smart character poised for frontline and tactical roles.

    • This choice aligns with the strategic goal to balance combat toughness with leadership potential.

    • Final stats were written on the character sheet for gameplay readiness.

  • Sean selected a Scout, characterized by average stats, emphasizing versatility and survival skills fitting his self-described “Jack of All Trades” playstyle (11:31).

    • His role suits reconnaissance and adaptability, matching the team’s need for diverse skill coverage.

  • Corey Putnam opted for a soldier role with 10 strength and 14 dexterity, favoring combat effectiveness and marksmanship (11:31).

    • The higher dexterity enhances his shooting ability, positioning him as a reliable ranged attacker.

  • Addie Thomas debated between Force Adept and Tech Specialist, ultimately selecting Force Adept due to 10 intelligence and 15 wisdom, favoring force-related powers over technical skills (12:53).

    • This strategic choice leverages his high wisdom to maximize force abilities, supporting the team's mystical and tactical edge.

Understanding Game Mechanics and Health System

The team received a clear briefing on the Star Wars D20 health system, highlighting two hit point types to inform risk and survival strategy (13:50).

  • Vitality points represent temporary stamina, replenished easily and lost first in combat.

  • Wound points, tied directly to constitution, represent serious damage and are harder to recover, emphasizing the importance of constitution in character durability.

  • Characters with low constitution, like Addie’s with a 5 dexterity or Corey’s with an STD backstory, face higher risks from critical hits bypassing vitality.

  • This system informs player decisions on risk-taking and resource management during gameplay.

Narrative Development and Character Relationships

The team collaboratively built complex interpersonal dynamics and backstories to deepen engagement and drive role-play scenarios (18:27).

  • Ben and Addie developed a love-hate rivalry, creating dynamic tension that promises engaging conflict and cooperation in future episodes (18:27).

    • This relationship is designed to add emotional depth and unpredictability.

  • Addie and Corey share a history of being slighted by their mission commander, fostering a bond rooted in shared hardship and motivation for revenge (23:34).

    • This backstory reinforces team cohesion through common grievances.

  • Sean’s character has a deep spiritual connection, potentially force-related, aligning with Addie’s Force Adept role, suggesting future plot collaboration (24:56).

  • These relationships provide narrative hooks for missions and character growth, enhancing player investment and storytelling.

Setting and Strategic Plot Foundations

The group established the post-Death Star destruction setting with a focus on rebellion tensions, perceived injustices, and emerging threats to drive the story forward (33:34).

  • They positioned themselves as overlooked rebels frustrated by lack of recognition despite critical contributions, creating a motivation to prove their worth (33:34).

    • The frustration centers on guarding a wall that symbolizes exclusion and underappreciation.

  • A secret project beyond the Death Star is identified as a central mystery, establishing a clear strategic objective for the team to investigate (39:44).

    • This plot point frames the upcoming missions and justifies the team’s initiative to operate independently from higher Rebel command.

  • The setting incorporates real emotional stakes, such as lost comrades and the destruction of Jedi temples, grounding the sci-fi narrative in personal loss.

  • This foundation sets a tone of urgency and distrust, encouraging player-driven investigation and action.

Operational Scene and Immediate Threat Response

The episode concluded with the team responding to an unexpected Imperial attack, setting the stage for action and survival gameplay (48:51).

  • A flickering light triggers alarm signals, announcing an Imperial assault and immediate evacuation orders, creating a high-stakes opening scenario (48:51).

    • This event forces players to quickly adapt and coordinate escape plans from Yavin 4.

  • The scene blends strategic urgency with character-driven tension, emphasizing the need for teamwork under pressure.

  • This cliffhanger ending establishes momentum for the next session, where evacuation and survival will be the primary challenges.

  • It also tests the characters’ skills and defined roles in a real crisis, validating the earlier stat and relationship decisions.

Series Planning and Engagement Strategy

The hosts outlined the episodic nature of the campaign and engagement opportunities, tying player investment to audience participation and content release strategy (52:51).

  • Episodes will be released monthly with early access provided through Patreon, encouraging financial support and fan engagement.

  • The campaign format fosters ongoing narrative development, allowing characters and plotlines to evolve naturally.

  • Integration of community involvement through the website and discussions aims to build a loyal fan base around the series.

  • This approach balances content creation with sustainable support mechanisms, aligning business goals with creative freedom.

00:25

Addy
Well, well, we've got a special start to a brand new series. But before we get into that series, Ben, tell us a little bit about what's going on with Patreon right now.

All of that is@ certainpov.com today we've got. Well, we've got our largest recording group so far, a couple people who've been regularly involved with the show. We've got.

01:34

Ben
And then Corey.

01:35

Addy
And then. Yeah.

01:38

Ben
So let's start there.

01:39

Addy
All right, so Corey, we've got. We've got Corey Putnam, a good friend of mine in Ben's.

01:43

Cory
Hey, how you doing?

01:44

Ben
What's up, Corey? Thank you for coming and playing with us.

01:46

Cory
It's an honor.

01:49

Ben
Stay closer to the mic, please.

01:50

Case
Hey, guys.

01:51

Cory
Big love to the mic. Hey, guys, I'm here.

01:53

Addy
And we've also got Sean.

01:55

Shawn
How's everyone doing? Glad to be here.

01:57

Ben
Sean is the artist who put together a lot of the artwork that you see on the podcast and on the website. So we're big fans of Sean. We love his work. Thank you very much for all that you've done.

02:07

Shawn
Well, thank you very much.

02:08

Addy
And then of course, Case, who's practically a part of the podcast.

02:11

Ben
He's family.

02:12

Case
He's family, basically. Hello, friends. And Fellow gamers.

02:16

Addy
He's our nerd cred. He's the one who keeps us accountable. So we're starting this brand new series where we're. Well, for me, it's my first venturing into a Dungeons and Dragons type role playing game, but we're doing it with a Star wars themed case.

02:33

Case
Yeah, let me set this one up. All right, so I'm a big old nerd. Shockingly. Wait, what? Yeah. Oh, my God.

02:39

Cory
No way.

02:40

Case
So I was perusing Amazon and I was like, I wonder what the books cost. And I looked it up and I was like, hey, I could pick up that Star Wars D20 book. Like, I run a couple games. I play a lot of like D and D, like third edition and Pathfinder stuff. And I was like, okay, I've heard this one's pretty close. I'll check it out. And I know there's more recent additions that people like more, but I feel pretty comfortable with this. So I picked it up and I was like, hey, do you guys want to, I don't know, share our love of Star Wars a little bit with that? And you guys got in and then we brought in everyone else. So I. That's what we're gonna start doing today.

03:19

Ben
I'm so excited about this. I've been a long time player of D and D. I started playing D and D when I was like, I don't know, 12, and stopped playing when I was 20 just because I'd moved away from all my friends who played. So this is the first time that I'm actually able to play tabletop role playing game again. It's been a long time, dude. It has been a long time and I've been missing it. You don't know how excited I am for this right now.

03:45

Addy
Wow.

03:45

Ben
You see the joy in my eyes?

03:47

Cory
I.

03:47

Ben
Can you hear it in my voice?

03:49

Cory
Hear it in your voice?

03:50

Shawn
Feel the boner?

03:51

Case
Yeah.

03:51

Addy
That's because you're sitting right next to me.

03:53

Cory
Can you hear it or can you feel it?

03:55

Case
It reverberates the air. All right, so Sean and Corey, both of you guys are low on experience on this one, right?

04:00

Shawn
No experience. I'm with daddy. I'm a virgin of D and D world. So yeah, I played. First time.

04:07

Cory
I haven't played since high school. 2001. 2002. So I'm basically a virgin as well. So ready to.

04:13

Case
Oh, I can't wait. My little buzz phrase while we've been like, prepping for this episode is today's episode is going to be a lot of Inside baseball, we are going to do some stat rolling and some basic things to sort of establish characters. Rather than have everyone come in and be like, I want to be Luke Skywalker's long lost brother. And I want to be Luke Skywalker's long lost uncle. Like all that character. Skywalker, Duke Skywalker.

04:43

Addy
He's gotta have a mullet.

04:45

Case
Oh, my God, he's got stars and bars.

04:49

Ben
Lightsabers. Is that an option?

04:55

Case
No. So just a quick. Before we get really too deep into it, we're setting this right after the first Star wars movie. So it's that era. So Jedi are not on the table for everyone. We are going to be like, I'm starting you guys as rebels. And that's where we're going to begin. But first we're going to actually figure out who these characters are. So unless anyone has anything else, let's get started. Let's do it.

05:19

Cory
Let's do it.

05:20

Case
All right, Ben, why don't we have you start first? We're going to do three, six.

05:24

Ben
We doing old school rules.

05:26

Case
Old school? Yeah, we had a conversation about this beforehand. We're doing this, like the hardcore old school D and D way. So you. Yeah. So we're doing from top to bottom, 12 for strength. Okay, cool. So just write the 12 for now. Don't. Actually, it's probably better if you write.

05:40

Ben
It on the side.

05:40

Case
Cause we're gonna do race selections, which might affect it. Okay. So just write it off on the side.

05:45

Ben
Yeah, gotcha.

05:46

Shawn
All right.

05:46

Ben
Just keep going down the line.

05:47

Case
Yeah, you go. Yeah. All right.

05:48

Ben
For dexterity, I rolled a seven, so I'm straight up average strength. Pretty clumsy.

05:55

Case
All right.

05:57

Ben
But I'm super healthy. I got a 14 for constitution.

06:00

Cory
Nice. No STDs, so I think so I.

06:03

Ben
Think I might actually end up being a wookie on this one, the way it looks. Let's see. 11, 12, 13, 14 for intelligence. I'm wicked smart.

06:12

Case
You are like chewbacca right now.

06:15

Ben
8 and 12 for wisdom. I'm above average.

06:18

Case
Okay.

06:20

Ben
Yeah, it's like the real me.

06:23

Case
Well, it's dumb down, just clumsy. Got some muscle mass and like, fairly quick with the joke.

06:28

Ben
And 10 charisma. So, yeah, it is a lot like me.

06:32

Addy
Nice.

06:33

Case
All right, John, so just write it along the. The side there. Because when we figure out the races, then you can do your final squad.

06:40

Shawn
My cherry.

06:40

Cory
Oh, snap. We're about to witness history.

06:43

Ben
Here we go. Oh, God. Eight strength.

06:46

Case
Eight strength. Okay.

06:47

Shawn
All right. Nothing wrong with being a Jawa.

06:55

Ben
More like.

07:03

Case
Ten for Constitution. Okay.

07:07

Shawn
I'll be honest, I don't know what any of this means, but here we go. Rely on you guys. Eight. Eight.

07:17

Ben
God, you're awful at rolling dice.

07:21

Cory
Not going to Vegas with him, that's for sure.

07:24

Ben
You're definitely going to be the dumbest guy in this group.

07:27

Shawn
Eight for wisdom.

07:28

Case
Wow.

07:30

Addy
Well, everyone needs cannon fodder.

07:34

Ben
The rule is push Sean out front first.

07:37

Shawn
There's gotta be a short bus in Star wars, right?

07:42

Cory
The short speeder wisdom does not come with age in this one.

07:46

Case
Okay, wow. All right, that's pretty brutal. But we agreed we wanted to have derpy characters because we realized that you guys aren't the heroes of the story. Luke Skywalker is the hero of this story. So it didn't make sense for you to be.

07:59

Ben
Fuck that guy.

08:01

Cory
Did it hurt when you popped your cherry? Did it hurt? It did hurt. Alright, cool.

08:05

Case
Wow, that got gross. For listeners at home.

08:08

Cory
Only because you're visualizing it.

08:10

Case
For listeners at home who aren't familiar with the D and D stat system. It's all based on three six sided dice giving you a range of possibly 3 to 18 for your score. So 10 is considered an average. And then everything below that you get minuses and everything above that you get bonuses.

08:27

Ben
What did you get?

08:28

Cory
10 for strength.

08:29

Case
10 for strength.

08:29

Ben
Okay, 14 for average and everything. Oh, I'm going home.

08:34

Case
We got a five. Five for real person Take a hit.

08:38

Ben
Did you say five for constitution?

08:40

Shawn
Oh, dude, you're dead.

08:41

Case
Oh. And it's particularly bad in this edition. There's a some interesting stuff. So it's a 10.

08:51

Cory
10 for intelligence.

08:52

Case
Intelligence. Okay. We're looking at nine right there.

08:58

Ben
All right.

08:58

Shawn
We're gonna be buddies.

08:59

Cory
Yeah.

09:00

Case
All right.

09:03

Cory
So the virgins in the group gotta stick together.

09:08

Case
And then that's what a 12.

09:09

Shawn
Star Wars 12.

09:12

Cory
Might be weak, but I look damn good.

09:14

Addy
Someone trips over to.

09:16

Case
All right, Addie, let's. Let's see what you got. Show me what you got.

09:22

Addy
Oh God. That's eight.

09:24

Shawn
Nice.

09:25

Case
For strength. He's got an eight. All right.

09:27

Cory
He won't be protecting us.

09:31

Case
Are you serious?

09:31

Ben
I'm the strongest guy in this group.

09:33

Cory
Yeah. Oh yeah.

09:33

Addy
Oh no.

09:34

Cory
We're depending on you now.

09:36

Case
Oh my God.

09:38

Addy
I'm gonna trip into the full Sarlacc pit.

09:40

Cory
Oh, nice use Boba Fett.

09:44

Addy
Where.

09:48

Case
12.

09:49

Addy
Constitution.

09:50

Ben
Mildly healthy.

09:54

Addy
It's the extra fat. Those are my extra hit points. Extra hit points, what's that? Five and five.

10:02

Ben
That's. That's five and five is usually 10. Yeah.

10:05

Addy
Yeah. Well, I'm a Little low on the. You know, until it slow.

10:07

Ben
It slow it rolls.

10:09

Case
I mean, I'm going to remind you that we're like. The people sitting in this room are in the, like, 10 to 12 range in the real world.

10:18

Addy
Got a 15.

10:18

Cory
Not me.

10:19

Shawn
Oh, there you go.

10:20

Cory
But I appreciate the compliment.

10:21

Case
Compliment?

10:25

Cory
No, that was your first.

10:28

Case
I want to remind people what average is. Kind of like. Like, we're not. We are not scientists who are, like, so 9 revolutionizing the world right now.

10:35

Ben
Take that back.

10:36

Case
Okay. When you show me your secret lab.

10:40

Addy
There we go.

10:41

Case
In Binster's laboratory.

10:43

Ben
Show you.

10:44

Case
But then I'd have to kill you. All right, so let's take a look at everyone's stats and start to get an idea of what kind of character they are.

10:54

Ben
Oh, my God, I'm the best.

10:59

Case
But so let's talk what you guys are thinking about class first, and then we can sort of assess it. I guess we'll start with Ben and go around the same way.

11:07

Ben
So I'm leaning towards. I'm split between either being a fringer or a soldier because of my roles.

11:13

Case
Okay.

11:14

Ben
Like a fringer kind of makes sense with the roles that I got. I'm low on dexterity. That's the only reason that's kind of giving me reason to not be a soldier. But if I am a soldier, like, I kind of want to lean towards more like, fast tracked to being a captain or a corporal or like on the path to being a leader. Because I got high strength. I have average strength, high constitution, high intelligence, and average wisdom.

11:37

Case
I feel like that seems more fringer to me.

11:41

Ben
Yeah, I feel that way too. I feel like it makes more sense.

11:45

Case
Yeah.

11:46

Ben
Yeah, I think so, too. I think it'll be more fun to play that.

11:49

Case
Sorry.

11:50

Ben
I'll go Fringer.

11:52

Case
All right, Sean, what are you kind of feeling right now?

11:55

Shawn
So right now I'm leaning toward scouts, because Jack of All Trades just sounds like me in real life and based on my roles, which I still know nothing about, but I'm just basing it on your laughter. That could still make sense. Sounds pretty much average type of person. Just go out there and try not to die.

12:16

Case
Just like real life.

12:17

Shawn
Just like real life. Yes. So that's what I'm leaning toward.

12:20

Case
All right, Corey.

12:21

Cory
I think I'm gonna be leaning towards soldier as well. I don't know why, but.

12:26

Ben
What's your strength?

12:27

Cory
My strength is 10.

12:29

Case
What's your dex? Oh, wow.

12:30

Cory
My dex is 14, though. So I'm thinking.

12:32

Case
Oh, so you'll actually be A good shot.

12:33

Cory
Yeah, a good shot.

12:35

Case
Okay, so I can put John McGraw over there.

12:39

Cory
Yeah.

12:40

Case
All right.

12:40

Addy
Addie, I'm still debating between two. I'm not sure if I should go force adept or tech specialist.

12:45

Case
Okay, sorry, what were your int and whiz course?

12:48

Ben
Well, he's Indian, so automatically tech specialist.

12:53

Case
Thank you, Come again.

12:56

Ben
Enjoy your Slurpee while I shoot you down.

13:00

Case
My name is Binder Dundee and I.

13:02

Cory
Have been there and I have done that.

13:05

Addy
So I've got 10 intelligence and 15 wisdom.

13:09

Case
Okay. I. I think you're probably gonna. Based on your roles, you're gonna probably want to lean towards force adept.

13:15

Addy
Yeah.

13:16

Case
Because you. Sorry, you said 10 intelligence and 15 wisdom, right?

13:20

Shawn
Yeah.

13:20

Case
Yeah. So that's. You're just gonna be more effective at the force related stuff versus I think.

13:26

Ben
You should be a soldier.

13:28

Case
Yeah.

13:28

Addy
With my five dexterity.

13:29

Cory
Yeah.

13:30

Case
Versus your tech bonuses just aren't.

13:32

Addy
I got your back, drop my blaster.

13:34

Case
You're just not gonna have the skill bonuses to really maximize your. Your tech skills. So like it'd be one where like, yeah, you're doing okay because that's. You're still trained and you're doing all right at it, but you're not like excelling. Yeah. Which could be interesting. But I think if we're allowed, you know, if we're picking classes based on.

13:50

Addy
The roles, I'm gonna go with source of depth then.

13:52

Case
Okay, suck it. Cool, cool. Okay, suck it. Sorry. So here's one thing I forgot to mention that is different and I like, but it is interesting about this game versus like Dungeons and Dragons. So there are two sets of hit points. There's what's called vitality points, which are what go up with level. So your class will have what's called a hit die. It's what you roll every time you level up and that's your bonuses that you accrue. Now the idea for that is any wound that takes points off that and that's what it drains first is like a wound that you just shrugged off or didn't really hit you, but you had to work your ass off to get out of the way. And so now you're kind of tired, but really it's for. Someone punched you and you're like, no, you're fine.

14:36

Case
Like, like really big movie kind of scene. Like wounds where it's like, no, I'm good. In the next scene I was just like, wow, I got hit really hard. Okay, I'm still good. I'm good. And that's the kind of stuff that Heals easily because they're not big hits. And then there are wound points, and that is just your constitution score.

14:52

Ben
Okay.

14:52

Case
And there are things that can bypass vitality, which means that if you have a low constitution score, and that doesn't go up as you level up, that's just your constitution score forever. Well, you can boost your constitution score, but you can't that. But your constitution score is your wound point allotment. So if it's low, it means you're particularly vulnerable to things like a critical hit, which can bypass the vitality points. Exactly. So it is something to be aware of.

15:20

Ben
You're gonna die.

15:22

Cory
It's nice knowing you guys, but if anyone flicks me, I'm done.

15:27

Case
Well, if they roll 20 on their flick, check on the flickjack. Ben, you're going fringer.

15:33

Ben
I am a fringer.

15:34

Case
All right, so what kind of race are you looking at then?

15:36

Ben
I want to be human.

15:37

Case
You're gonna be human?

15:38

Ben
Yeah.

15:38

Case
All right, so you can just go ahead and take your stats and write them into the bubbles along the sheet.

15:43

Shawn
Yep.

15:43

Case
Gotcha.

15:44

Cory
Nice. Scout's honor.

15:47

Case
All right, Corey.

15:49

Cory
If I was a Jar. Do I have to speak Jar?

15:53

Addy
I think you kinda. I kinda expect that is required.

15:57

Case
Well, so think about this. So you're not. If you're there on Yavin 4, you've definitely been out in the world for a while. So what would be interesting is if you still, like, you fall into it when you're either angry or more emotional, but you have it more under control. Otherwise, I mean, decide how you want to play.

16:13

Ben
How you want to play, baby.

16:14

Case
If you don't want to do the Jar voice all the time, you can have it all the time.

16:19

Cory
All the time.

16:19

Case
You can have a reason for not doing it, or you can figure out the right balance for you.

16:25

Cory
Okay.

16:26

Ben
I spec misa chores. Strength plus two.

16:32

Cory
Mesa wiggling.

16:35

Case
All right. Okay, so that is a plus two to your con score. Yay.

16:40

Ben
Are you seriously picking Gungan?

16:42

Cory
Yeah.

16:42

Ben
What did you choose for. Oh, that's right.

16:44

Case
You're Hammerhead. This is a weird thing. So what did you choose? Human.

16:47

Cory
All right, so plus two.

16:48

Case
Really?

16:48

Addy
Yeah. Boring.

16:50

Shawn
See, Ben wants to make the galaxy great again.

16:51

Case
Addie.

16:59

Ben
First thing we do is we build a wall.

17:02

Case
Here's the problem of the Empire. They're not racist enough.

17:08

Shawn
We're going big league.

17:09

Case
They get the Death Star and they blow up a human planet.

17:13

Ben
We're going to remake a Death Star, and it's going to be huge.

17:17

Case
It might have a giant Hole in one side of it. Because it'll still be licking like it's under construction. But it'll be fully operational, I guarantee it. Maybe the next one after that might be a planet, I don't know.

17:30

Ben
But we're gonna get the Ewoks to pay for it.

17:36

Case
After we trap them behind our space wall. All right, Addy, so we're feeling Force adept.

17:47

Addy
Alright, Going for Keldor.

17:50

Ben
Wait, what?

17:50

Addy
Plo Koons, people.

17:53

Cory
I don't know why we just gasped for air.

17:57

Case
Okay, cool.

17:58

Shawn
Is that a Star Trek? So.

18:01

Cory
My wisdom is low. So I'm just gonna copy you guys.

18:04

Ben
Can you pinch people's necks and they fall over?

18:08

Case
Now we're gonna do a little bit of relationships.

18:11

Ben
All right, everybody, time to do a trust catch.

18:14

Addy
Oh, not with my dexterity. You don't want me to try to get.

18:19

Cory
And if you don't catch me, I'm dead. All right, guys, this is a lot of trust going on here.

18:27

Case
So Ben.

18:27

Ben
Yeah?

18:29

Case
Roll me a D6.

18:31

Ben
I just gotta roll a two.

18:32

Case
You rolled a two. Okay, cool. Give me one more roll.

18:37

Ben
Rolled a one.

18:39

Case
All right, someone in this group is a personal rival of yours.

18:43

Cory
Oh, don't make it for me.

18:46

Case
So think about that detail. Now give me another. Another D6 roll. Yes. This makes sense. Oh, that was so gay. Ben and Addy just locked eyes first. I didn't say anything, but now that you mentioned it. First in a moment of rage, and then a moment of passion and then back to rage. Five. A five. Okay, cool. So you need to get the truth and give me another roll.

19:21

Ben
I need to get the truth.

19:23

Cory
I'm have to start changing.

19:24

Ben
You can't handle the truth.

19:25

Case
What do you roll six about the secret project.

19:32

Cory
It's that wall again.

19:36

Ben
There's nothing secret about the wall. God damn it. The wall.

19:39

Case
All right, Sean, give me a D6.

19:42

Shawn
Roll six.

19:45

Case
All right, so give me one more.

19:48

Cory
How come he gets the cool dice?

19:51

Case
You have a very deep, soulful connection to someone in the group.

19:56

Cory
Oh, man.

19:57

Case
Through a shared faith, Someone hates you.

20:00

Addy
And then someone really loves you.

20:02

Case
So this could be something where, like, you really believe in the Force in a way that like most people just sort of like, give it lip service.

20:08

Cory
Lip service.

20:08

Case
He really loves you. Give me one more.

20:13

Ben
Plu. Your coon.

20:14

Shawn
Hey.

20:15

Cory
Hey.

20:17

Case
All right. And one more after that.

20:21

Ben
2.

20:26

Case
You feel that desperately. You need to get ready to confront your worst.

20:29

Ben
You're still drinking yours.

20:31

Addy
Greedy.

20:31

Cory
Can't have like another. You cheeky bastard.

20:35

Case
All right, he's bearing Up. Okay, great. Addie, let's jump to you because Cory's bearing up.

20:42

Shawn
I'll take one of those.

20:43

Case
That's cool. Yeah. So give me a roll.

20:47

Shawn
Three.

20:48

Case
All right, one more.

20:51

Addy
Let me try that again.

20:53

Ben
You've never rolled a dice before, have you?

20:56

Addy
One.

20:57

Case
Okay, someone in this group you feel you have agonizing sexual tension with.

21:04

Shawn
That's been established.

21:05

Case
Damn it. So this actually works really well because if you think about it this way, you have weird sexual tension with Ben's character, but he sees you as a personal vibe.

21:16

Addy
I didn't say that.

21:17

Case
Oh, yeah.

21:17

Ben
Oh, I did.

21:18

Case
You said it with your eyes. You said it with your eyes.

21:21

Ben
Right here, baby. Look at it. Look at it. Look at you. No, no, no. You're gay for me.

21:27

Shawn
Hey, wait. We haven't EST vendors yet.

21:30

Case
That's true. You could be playing a few. You could just be like weirdly into humans. Damn it.

21:38

Addy
All right, so.

21:39

Case
Okay, give me. Give me two more rolls.

21:41

Addy
This is the best ever. God bless you, Case.

21:47

Ben
How to roll a dice.

21:48

Case
What the hell?

21:48

Addy
Two and five.

21:51

Case
And you feel that you really need to get even with your immediate commander.

21:56

Addy
My immediate commander?

21:58

Case
Yeah, whoever is in charge of whatever division of the rebel alliance that you're in.

22:01

Addy
Okay.

22:02

Case
You feel slighted?

22:04

Addy
All right.

22:05

Case
All right, Corey.

22:06

Addy
All right, give me two rolls up front.

22:08

Ben
First that D. Three.

22:12

Case
Wow.

22:12

Cory
Oh, all right.

22:13

Case
Another one. Yep.

22:14

Cory
Okay. Eight. Well, that's a five.

22:19

Case
That's eight.

22:21

Ben
Six on a dice.

22:22

Addy
Well, the intellect wasn't so great, was it?

22:25

Shawn
No.

22:26

Cory
Yeah.

22:26

Ben
No. Yeah.

22:27

Cory
Yeah.

22:27

Addy
I can see in the dark, but.

22:28

Case
Not in real light. In your past, you had an ill advised, like, passionate one time fling. Oh, you have an STD that haunts you to this day.

22:41

Ben
Explains your constitution.

22:43

Cory
Yeah, I wasn't gonna tell anybody, but now that you mention it.

22:47

Case
Yeah, no, sorry, guys, I can only take.

22:49

Ben
So whichever one.

22:50

Cory
You has a gay crush, don't let.

22:51

Case
It be on me.

22:52

Cory
Okay.

22:52

Case
And Cory, give me two more.

22:55

Cory
Oh, that's nasty. So I had. Okay, so I got hurt in the past, right?

23:01

Case
So, yeah, you had like a. A really poor choice of a one time fling. And it's one that you knew was a bad choice going in. And it still has scars.

23:08

Cory
Oh, those scars.

23:09

Ben
Who would sleep with a Gungan?

23:11

Cory
Well, let's say once they never go again.

23:16

Case
They have really long tongues.

23:18

Ben
Fair enough.

23:18

Case
I'm in.

23:22

Ben
I volunteer.

23:23

Case
I volunteer as tribute. And Corey, give me two more rolls.

23:27

Cory
Okay.

23:30

Case
Two.

23:33

Cory
Five.

23:33

Case
Oh, wow. Okay. So you actually share this one with Addie? Oh, no, all right. No, this helps inform the character. So you both really feel slighted by your mission commander. So in this scenario, I mean, it could be one of you is the mission commander, or you both were slighted by the same guy. So that's a thought for you on that one.

23:53

Cory
What do you mean by slighted?

23:55

Addy
Like, you know, you think, well, you're that one fling.

23:59

Cory
I do have a long tongue.

24:01

Case
Whatever scenario you guys just were like, the last mission you guys were on, you feel like you just barely got away with your lives. Or maybe you feel like, well, shit, I.

24:11

Ben
You got passed up for a promotion.

24:14

Case
Something like that. But given the rebels like that, the state that. Where you are in this world, it's. It was probably a life or death situation, and either you're the person who caused the other one to be in it, or you both were in it together. Yeah, well, in it together, and someone else, like, screwed you.

24:30

Ben
I'd like to screw you and your long tongue.

24:36

Cory
Okay, so basically.

24:37

Case
Got it.

24:37

Ben
All right.

24:40

Case
So Ben and Addie couldn't help themselves, and immediately they latched onto a weird love hate relationship, which is exactly what you'd expect. Addie and Corey have sort of a shared past of some kind, or. Which do you feel more comfortable with? Like, actually hating each other or. Having a shared hatred brought us closer together.

25:02

Cory
So they built the wall, and then were on the other side.

25:05

Addy
All right, so we're like the two non whites here.

25:09

Case
All right, so, you guys, were.

25:10

Addy
Obviously passed for a promotion because weren't human.

25:12

Cory
Just because weren't human.

25:13

Case
Yeah, that might be it.

25:15

Ben
I'm just trying to make the world a better place.

25:19

Case
All right, Sean. Sorry, what was your galaxy.

25:22

Shawn
Galaxy connection faithfully with someone else could be force related.

25:29

Case
Well, I mean, that's a good thought. Like, Addie is a Force adept. Like, are you thinking of your playing it more as, like, the natural kind of force user or just a different school of the force?

25:38

Addy
I was gonna go for different school of the force.

25:40

Case
Okay, so maybe you actually are familiar with that tradition and actually, like, kind of share it with him.

25:44

Shawn
Right, and then I'm also. I need to confront my worst fears.

25:48

Ben
Oh, yeah.

25:49

Cory
Spiders.

25:51

Shawn
I also need to confront my worst fear.

25:52

Case
Okay. The cave.

25:57

Addy
Blown your mind would be.

26:00

Case
And Ben, just give me a rattle off the. The ones that you had before.

26:04

Ben
I have a rivalry with Addie.

26:07

Case
Okay.

26:07

Ben
And I have to. I am compelled to get the secret project out of somebody.

26:13

Case
Okay. All right. I like this. This is actually. This is some good notes. So this Is good. This is good. Guys, let's take a break while I write some of this stuff up. Okay, cool.

26:28

Cory
I'm excited. Because, you know, isn't Jar, like secretly the main villain?

26:34

Shawn
Darth.

26:36

Ben
Darth Jar. Yes, Corey, yes.

26:40

Cory
That's what caused that one time fling revenge.

26:46

Ben
Why don't you ask Gaddy how he's gonna be dressing up for awesome Con this year?

26:49

Cory
Oh, yeah. No, is it official? Because I thought that was a rumor for last year.

26:53

Ben
Totally official.

26:54

Case
Is it official?

26:55

Cory
Oh, that's awesome.

26:56

Ben
Jar Jar.

26:56

Cory
Awesome Con is in what July start.

26:58

Ben
Fantasy football league May.

27:01

Shawn
Yeah.

27:02

Cory
Boom.

27:02

Ben
Oh, I can't wait. I cannot wait. How into it are you gonna be, Addie?

27:07

Addy
I'm gonna be really into it. I'm gonna go all out.

27:09

Ben
You're going balls in.

27:11

Addy
I'm gonna get a nice mask. I mean, for the robe, I shouldn't.

27:15

Ben
Need to do you already have the bathrobe.

27:17

Shawn
Yeah.

27:17

Addy
So the bathroom. Do that. But yeah, I'll just do the voice throughout the whole day. Oh, it's gonna be good.

27:23

Cory
You better start practicing now.

27:25

Addy
Trust me, I know that voice.

27:26

Cory
No, got it. All right.

27:32

Ben
You know, but you gotta. You gotta darken it up though. Like he's Darth Jar.

27:36

Addy
Well, I'll listen to a bunch of Barry White before his silly.

27:39

Ben
Jar Jar was just his cover, right?

27:40

Cory
Yeah, just his cover.

27:42

Addy
Okay, well, I'm gonna work on it.

27:44

Cory
We all saw him mouthing the words that Fatima was saying.

27:47

Ben
Thank you.

27:48

Case
We all saw it. We all saw it.

27:50

Ben
Than.

27:52

Addy
Maybe I need to be flighted by you now.

27:58

Cory
Well, they do say keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. This is why we're so close.

28:06

Ben
Wait, who do you have a crush on? Addie.

28:10

Addy
We already clearly established that this.

28:13

Ben
No, seriously, you have the love with me.

28:15

Case
I mean, if you don't want to do it that way, I think it's fine. I think it's funnier this way. Because it's not. It's also across species. So the gender thing isn't even really the issue at this point. It's the fact that, like, it's not.

28:26

Addy
Even compatible with my. Whatever the mouth thing is.

28:28

Case
Aquaman, you cannot love her. She's. She's not of the water. You have two different worlds.

28:35

Shawn
What species did you go with?

28:36

Addy
Plo Koon species use the weird gas breathers. Yeah, which makes sense, cuz Ben's really gassy.

28:45

Cory
Is that what that smell is?

28:47

Ben
I mean, it's not.

28:48

Case
So wait, are you like a dog who just like, smells farts?

28:51

Addy
I think so. Hey.

28:53

Ben
Hey.

28:54

Case
I wonder.

28:55

Ben
I don't like you.

28:59

Addy
It's so creepy that you like me.

29:00

Ben
And I can't stand you.

29:02

Case
I know.

29:02

Addy
That's what makes it even better. I'm so uncomfortable with you already. Give me time.

29:10

Ben
Oh, I hate you already.

29:11

Cory
I think he secretly likes you, but he hates that he likes you. I think so, too.

29:15

Addy
I think the rivalry is just born out of a deep seat of love.

29:17

Cory
Yeah. Yeah. We'll find out.

29:22

Addy
You're the one.

29:22

Ben
Find out on the next episode. Placuna's a bad.

29:26

Addy
And you have one.

29:27

Case
I do.

29:28

Ben
He's awesome.

29:31

Case
Will you put it.

29:31

Ben
Will you wear it for me while we play?

29:34

Addy
Damn it. Yeah.

29:49

Shawn
That was easy.

29:54

Addy
What the hell, dude?

30:02

Shawn
We bend over this pinball machine. Sure.

30:10

Ben
See?

30:10

Addy
Now is the hate real now?

30:14

Ben
So real. Totally bringing it next time.

30:19

Addy
I know, right?

30:20

Case
Damn it.

30:20

Ben
Get that out of my house. Finally. Oh, I can't wait.

30:32

Addy
That was great.

30:34

Ben
Yeah, I'll wear it.

30:37

Case
Damn it.

30:38

Shawn
Yes.

30:40

Cory
He's been waiting for you to ask.

30:42

Addy
It really has.

30:45

Ben
I'm shocked you didn't go with Calamari.

30:47

Addy
So that you can. I was thinking of it, but I couldn't afford more hits to my dexterity.

30:50

Ben
So you could wear the mask.

30:52

Case
Guys, start thinking about your names.

30:54

Ben
I'm sorry, what? I'm going with Phallus Vag Killer.

30:58

Addy
Nice.

31:01

Cory
I like it.

31:03

Addy
I would have a better name.

31:06

Case
Examples of Ithorian names are Phandomar, Momow, Oral Tor, Tomla, Trangle Oumo.

31:14

Ben
Sure it is.

31:15

Case
Whatever.

31:16

Ben
Phallus Vag Killer.

31:22

Case
Yeah, but I'm gonna do it like Han Solo, where it's also Han.

31:27

Ben
Hey, Phallus. Hey, Phallus.

31:31

Case
Come here. Phelous Bachelor.

31:35

Ben
Phelous Bachelor. I like the enunciation better. Phelous Valtular is perfect.

31:41

Case
Vachelar.

31:44

Ben
What did you. What did you choose?

31:45

Addy
X I Choo.

31:47

Ben
X I Choo.

31:48

Case
No. Zee Chu.

31:49

Ben
Sounds pronounced Zee Chu.

31:51

Case
Actually, if you really want to.

31:52

Ben
God bless.

31:52

Cory
You.

31:55

Case
Want to over pronounce it, but yeah.

31:57

Addy
There we go.

31:58

Cory
All right.

31:59

Addy
I didn't get.

32:00

Case
I already got in there.

32:00

Addy
I couldn't think of any puns. I wasn't expecting to go Force Adept.

32:03

Cory
My name is Hu Flung dung.

32:06

Addy
Yeah, I know.

32:08

Case
Okay.

32:08

Cory
Yep. Ooflung Dung.

32:09

Shawn
All right.

32:11

Addy
I'm so proud that you're finally using that one.

32:13

Case
Yay.

32:15

Ben
Did you write brown spot on the wall?

32:17

Cory
Maybe.

32:18

Case
You'll never know. All right. Guys, there's shit everywhere. Hey, who flung dung? Yep. All right. What's your.

32:29

Shawn
What's your name on Fendir Pickup?

32:34

Ben
Fender pickup. So good. Addy, you really gotta work on your name.

32:43

Case
This is fine. And you guys can come up with nicknames for someone?

32:47

Addy
Oh, Fendir.

32:49

Case
Fendir. All right, so adventurers, as we are all aware, recently a group of outsiders came amongst the rebels and brought them back. Princess Leia, who had been captured by the Imperials and provided plans that allowed for a very successful assault on a base that no one thought was possible. A super weapon that can destroy planets. Can't deny that they did a great job. And when they came back recently, there was a big celebration and some people felt that they should have probably been on the front lines of that battle and probably don't feel so good about it that they weren't up there getting these medals. And we're gonna start with leaving this giant coronation ceremony for Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca as we have. Sorry, what?

33:46

Cory
Hu flung dung.

33:47

Case
Huflung dung. Zichu and Zichu. Coming out of it as everyone's just sort of like dispersing back. A one of your squad mates comes out and is like guys. Fucking bullshit. Right? Like that should have been us up there. Like how many times have we gotten our ass out of the fire and like pulled it off? Like we've made it back here every goddamn time some farm boy comes back and like he's getting a medal from the princess for real.

34:18

Cory
I'm tired of guarding this wall.

34:24

Case
Okay, this may be the wrong time in American history. I'm pausing for a second because this.

34:40

Ben
Is, you know what we need to do? We need to stop the importation of everybody who's not into the rebellion. We need a 90 day pause so that we can gather information about who's coming in and out of this rebellion.

34:56

Cory
I'm just mad that they built the wall to keep us out.

34:59

Addy
What's up with that?

35:00

Cory
And then we have to guard it. I feel so slighted by my commander right now.

35:05

Case
This one guy in college had in my theater company, we'd do these like 30 plays in 60 minute bits. So a lot of them were like these really short things. And this one guy kept presenting this play called Chris Walken where he just kept on like he'd walk into theater and just like walk to the back wall and go to the left. And it's like everywhere I go there's just this wall. And like that was it. That was the play. And now every time someone talks about the wall, I'm just like Chris Walken going the wall.

35:32

Ben
It's the Wall. The wall. Wow.

35:34

Case
Wow.

35:35

Ben
There's this wall.

35:38

Case
All right, so your squad, mate, we're.

35:42

Cory
Off to a flying dung on the wall.

35:46

Case
Jesus, man. Like, how? Like, I mean, you are a crack shot. You could have easily hit that exhaust port. Like, what is this? This is nuts, right?

35:55

Cory
Very nuts. Okay, what's this? My yawning. Oh, close to the mic.

36:01

Case
That's what it is.

36:02

Addy
Okay, I'm annoyed because, I mean, this guy brought him, right? Like, brought the Empire right to our base.

36:09

Case
I know they were tracking him. Princess Lei even said that in her speech. Yeah, and then we're rewarding the people who were tracked back here now.

36:16

Addy
You know, we just came off from. From Scarif. It's not like we got any medals.

36:20

Case
Yeah, like, how many people do we know died by that goddamn tyrant's hand with his weird ass, like, breathing issues? Breathing issues. Well, you're one to talk.

36:30

Ben
Yeah, I know, right?

36:34

Case
His sorceress powers and whatnot. Like. Like, what is it? Whatever. That's like, we all. We all know. It's just like, all this. Nothing matters next to a good blaster, right? Am I right?

36:47

Cory
Oh, yeah. Riza's so angry. That's horrible.

36:53

Case
I will say it's okay as long.

36:55

Cory
As you liked it so much. It only comes out when I'm mad.

37:01

Case
As we're, like, walking, like, just, you know, bitching about, like, our station in the rebellion and how we're not the heroes that we. We, like, left our homes and families to come out and be here. Or maybe we lost people that drove us here. But, like, we are not thrilled that we are not accomplishing much and we're not being recognized for the sacrifices we've made. Exactly right, then that's when Phelous walks by and hit or shoulder checks. I forget your name again.

37:29

Ben
What's up, bitch?

37:31

Cory
Really? I got your back, man. I'll let you know how many times you got your. Yeah, I'm not very strong. Or, you know, if he hits me, I'll die, so I'll just let you know how many times you get punched.

37:42

Addy
So what the hell's your problem?

37:44

Ben
What's your problem? You two guys are just sitting in the mopey faces. We just blow up the Death Star. What the hell, guys?

37:50

Addy
Yeah, but this is not, like, our first victory against the Empire. And how many supply runs have we gone on? And. And, like, the fact that we even have these X wings is because of the work that we've done.

38:01

Case
Yeah, man. Every single time we come home, that's a victory. And these Guys, they almost took away this home.

38:08

Ben
You guys don't understand the magnitude of this victory. Look, I'm telling you right now, there are secret plans out there for an even bigger problem that we've got to find. We've got to band together as a team and figure this out.

38:23

Addy
Are you just like, repeating Leia's like, talking points or something?

38:27

Case
You know, that's just sheer mongering to try to keep us riled up. Right?

38:30

Ben
Just want to get in my pants.

38:31

Case
We just.

38:34

Addy
Hey.

38:34

Cory
I knew it.

38:35

Case
This is my squad mate here, man. You can't talk that way to him or her. I'm not sure it's an alien. Do you ovulate through your gills? That are the. The gas gills. Okay, yeah, cool.

38:51

Ben
That's what that was. I rest my case. Thank you for making my point for me, dumbass. Lieutenant Dumbass.

39:01

Case
It's Dumas. Thank you. And yeah, I.

39:06

Ben
All right, breathe somewhere else and let the grownups have a talk here. Look, guys, seriously, I need to get together with a group of guys that I trust. You two fuck ups are what you are, but I trust you.

39:19

Addy
Okay, well, wait a minute's over.

39:22

Ben
Well, I don't have a high charisma, but clearly.

39:28

Case
Well, look, the way you're acting, we don't want to be any part of that. Come on, guys.

39:33

Cory
Yeah, all right.

39:34

Case
Leave your, like, paranoia to yourself.

39:37

Ben
Guys, seriously, listen to me. There's something going on. There's a bigger plot here that we need to discover.

39:44

Case
And you're like shouting that down this hallway. You look kind of like a crazy person.

39:47

Ben
Of course I look like a crazy person, because I'm a crazy person.

39:51

Cory
Sounds like a crazy person.

39:54

Case
Coming from the ceremony now is Fender. And he comes up behind you. Phelous.

40:06

Ben
Hey, Fender. Hey, how you doing, buddy?

40:10

Shawn
I'm just really down right now.

40:13

Case
What?

40:14

Shawn
You know, I just. Still thinking, you know, I was celebrating about this victory against the Empire with destruction of this base, and all I keep thinking about is the destruction of Jeddah and how any. All the temples are destroyed and people are just wiped out. Like the whole religion is just gonna be forgotten.

40:36

Ben
Holy shit, you're a downer.

40:39

Shawn
I'm sorry, man. I just feel like if I wasn't just so damn afraid of flying, I could have done something. I could be out there with you guys. But I've been spending my life on this planet. Thankfully, the rebels built a base on. I could help out in some way, scouting and whatnot. But.

40:59

Ben
Oh, hey, that reminds me. Dude, seriously, there's something Big going on I need your help with.

41:06

Shawn
Okay. It doesn't involve flying, though, Right. Even though I feel like I should be doing that somehow.

41:11

Ben
I mean, you're a scout, right?

41:12

Shawn
I am scout.

41:13

Ben
Okay, well, I need you to scout.

41:15

Case
Another soldier walks up and is like, you don't want to trust this guy. He's crazy. He was just ranting about some sort.

41:20

Ben
Of other superwoman dude. What is your rank?

41:23

Addy
Crazy.

41:23

Case
Lieutenant. Thank you.

41:25

Ben
Hi, Lieutenant. Good to see you, sir. Yeah, yeah, good talk.

41:29

Case
I mean, we're all in this rebellion together, but.

41:32

Ben
Yeah, but you don't understand, Lieutenant. There is this. I'm positive there's something bigger going on than the Death Star and I've got to get to the bottom.

41:39

Case
So clearly you need to know this, right? Because that would obviously be need to know information here. And now you're just spouting it off to everyone.

41:46

Ben
Well, I, I don't really know. I, I, I need to know.

41:53

Case
Got my brains.

41:54

Ben
Yeah, yeah, got you now, don't I?

41:58

Case
If you think you've got anything. We're going to have to take this up with the princess, right?

42:03

Ben
Oh, yeah.

42:04

Case
You know what? Maybe that was a bad idea. Maybe this was always a plan. Maybe you're just an Imperial spy in your spouting world.

42:11

Ben
Whoa, whoa. No, you're right, sir. I just had too much to drink. I'm sorry. I'm excited about the explosion of the Death Star. I'll just go back to my base and bunk and sleep it off.

42:25

Case
Okay, so we haven't done skill checks yet. We haven't done skill ranks yet. So just Give me a D20 roll.

42:32

Ben
Give me a D20. There's an 18, bitches.

42:39

Case
Okay, you do a good enough job of convincing this guy to, like, get off your back and just be like, whatever. Eat a dick, Lutheran underling.

42:48

Cory
As he melts to himself as he walks away.

42:52

Case
All right, yeah, so we're gonna, like, fade out this scene here and.

43:02

Addy
Let'S.

43:02

Case
Pick it up in the canteen. So we've got Phelis. I hate your names. I'll figure it out eventually, but I hate your names right now. Guys. So Phelous is sitting at one of the tables eating food. The celebrations were mostly for the people actually involved in saving the day, not for the people who didn't get their hands dirty that day. So you've been left forgotten and in walks Z.

43:38

Addy
Oh, great, my knock for brains over there, server man.

43:43

Ben
Whatever. Okay, like, there's enough problems. I don't need to hear from you.

43:50

Shawn
Good.

43:52

Cory
All right.

43:54

Ben
I mean, there's this. If you guys think that destroying the Death Star was the end of the Empire, you're. You're stupid.

44:02

Addy
Like, so you're really serious about this other secret project? Like, you think that, like, with the amount of money that they spent on the Death Star, you think they got another. Another one?

44:10

Ben
See? See, it's a big galaxy, man. There's so much out there. There's so much.

44:17

Addy
So what do you think is going on?

44:19

Ben
I don't know, but I've got to get to the bottom of it. There's a secret project out there. I know there's a secret project out there. I'm positive. I've heard through the grapevine. There's something else bigger going on out there. I don't know what it is, but I promise you there's something else out there, man. I've never led you astray.

44:37

Case
Hoof comes up behind Z.

44:38

Cory
Are you talking to this guy again? I know this guy. How many crazies did you eat today?

44:45

Ben
3. You want to make it 4? Dumbass.

44:51

Cory
Got my back, right?

44:52

Case
Yeah.

44:53

Cory
All right.

44:53

Addy
I think it's wise to avoid it.

44:55

Ben
He's got your back and my back, if you know what I mean.

44:58

Cory
Hey, yo, by the way, I heard. I heard some guy talking about some type of secret project going on. He's looking for some people to work with.

45:05

Ben
Dumbass.

45:06

Case
That's me. This guy.

45:08

Cory
Oh, this is awkward.

45:11

Ben
Oh, seriously. Look, guys, seriously. I respect both of you. You're both really good at what you do.

45:17

Addy
So what do you want us to do?

45:18

Ben
Yeah, we've got to figure out what the secret project is. We've got to get out and get out from underneath the Rebellion because they're just. They're too straight laced.

45:26

Addy
So you think we should do this on our own? No.

45:28

Ben
Yes. Yes. Because higher ups don't understand it. They don't get it, man. They think that it's over with the Death Star. It's not over with the Death Star.

45:38

Addy
There's more out there over with the Death Star. But at the very least, like, we. I mean, we know we gotta move from yavin at this point. Empire knows where we are.

45:47

Ben
It's bigger than that, man. I'm telling you. I'm telling you it's bigger than that. Right?

45:53

Cory
So.

45:53

Addy
So what's your suggestion? Where do we start with all this?

45:56

Cory
I mean, I'm not that. I'm pretty weak, but I'm a good shot. I mean, what is this?

46:00

Ben
That's what we need. I need somebody who's a Good shot. Somebody who in a clinch can get the job done.

46:06

Shawn
That's you.

46:07

Case
That's you.

46:08

Ben
You're the guy.

46:09

Cory
I woke up this morning feeling like a big shot, and this could be my big shot. Like, I don't know, Mr. Big Shot. You think this is something we should do? I love it when you sing to me.

46:19

Case
It's great to hear.

46:19

Ben
I know, I know.

46:20

Addy
I wanted to say you heard it through the great crowd.

46:21

Cory
He doesn't sound too great.

46:23

Case
A guy dressed up in, like, active guard uniform comes up and is like, z. Whew. I thought you guys were supposed to be on guard duty right now.

46:34

Cory
Oh, we're supposed to guard the wall.

46:35

Case
Yeah, it's your shift. Come on, we're all rotations here. You're each supposed to get up in those weird ass towers and just look up at the sky like you're effectively doing something.

46:45

Cory
You know, if they would pay us more than minimum wage, you know, we'd probably perform better.

46:49

Ben
You guys get minimum wage?

46:50

Cory
Yeah.

46:51

Case
Wow.

46:52

Ben
I know.

46:53

Addy
All right, don't aren't human. Don't act like you know you get.

46:56

Cory
More just because we're aliens. They think they could just pay us less. We can't.

47:02

Ben
I thought that was the point.

47:04

Case
Hey, you, Mr. Conspiracy Nut. Hold off, you two. Yeah, Guard duty now.

47:09

Addy
Go, go.

47:13

Case
Conspiracy Nut. What are you doing?

47:16

Cory
Nothing.

47:16

Ben
I was just talking to friends.

47:17

Case
Sir, you need to get some sleep.

47:20

Ben
I do. I will do that right after I finish this drink.

47:25

Case
Okay? Okay. And he walks off.

47:27

Ben
Dumbass. This is just like real life.

47:32

Addy
This is like work.

47:35

Case
You sit around, everyone thinks you're crazy, and you're bitter about everyone else's position.

47:39

Ben
This is like a regular podcast.

47:47

Case
All right, so we're going to. We're going to fade out of here and it's going to be. It's night. You guys are both on those weird little towers, like, looking off into space. Even though you'd think they would just use, like, mechanical things to see off into space, but I guess they need scout towers. You're asleep, you're asleep. And then. Hold on.

48:14

Addy
So do I need to do, like a check for, like, looking on the horizon or something?

48:17

Case
Yeah, once we do. More refined. Yes, but here, just give me a D20. Roll.

48:27

Addy
15.

48:29

Case
Okay, so you do see a little flickering of light. You're not sure if it's the. If it's the stars, but you see this flickering and it disturbs you a little bit. So you're actually kind of prepped and ready because then the alarms start going off. And you just hear. It's like this whoop, whoop. And I was hoping he was gonna do it.

49:00

Addy
I was like, as you got close, I was like, oh my God, it's gonna be the Rogue One trailer all over again.

49:05

Case
And you hear voices. This is not a drill. This is not a drill. The Imperial forces have arrived. Evacuate. Evacuate. All forces move to evacuate. This is not a drill. Repeat, this is not a drill.

49:23

Cory
What do we do?

49:24

Addy
Well, we should get down these towers first because of the long fucking way down.

49:30

Case
And that's where we're gonna end it. There.

49:32

Ben
Oh, wow. We're really gonna end it there.

49:35

Case
Yeah.

49:37

Addy
I'm gonna loop the sound effect that you were making again just before we go into theme.

49:41

Ben
There you go. Woo. Yeah.

49:46

Case
Like this. I just want you guys to like, start playing a little bit with like, what kind of personalities that your characters have, which apparently are just like acerbic dicks with each other. But we're gonna open with the evacuation of you change it up a little bit.

49:56

Ben
We'll meet friends. You'll be nice to me. No, you'll totally be nice to me. You love me.

50:01

Addy
But we're also rivals.

50:03

Ben
Yeah, but you love me.

50:04

Case
You're his rival. But he's your love.

50:08

Ben
You love me.

50:11

Case
So, yeah, so we'll build out the characters so we can actually do stuff. I. But this was just sort of like a. Let's start working on it. And yeah, next time when we pick up, it's going to be the evacuation.

50:20

Ben
Wait, Sean, are you seriously afraid of flying?

50:24

Case
Yeah.

50:24

Ben
That's awesome.

50:26

Shawn
I want to help out, but I can't. Like, I should have been there during the scare. I should have been there for the battle, the Death Star, but I just. I'm just. I'm on the ground.

50:35

Case
My thought on this one, by the way, is that you're definitely not from Yavin 4. More likely you're like Mr. T and they have to like knock you out. You start freaking out no matter what circumstance you're in, if it's flying.

50:50

Addy
Okay, I love that.

50:51

Case
So you might even think that you're from this planet, but you don't. Like, you think this planet is your home world. Like, you're not.

50:59

Addy
Like, why is there.

51:00

Ben
I need you to go everywhere. I pity the fool. At some point during this game, I pity the fool.

51:09

Case
Wait, what? Ithorians have like, sort of like a weird rumbly voice, right? Because it's like. It's like voice comes from two sides. Like.

51:17

Cory
Nice.

51:17

Shawn
Have to practice at home.

51:18

Cory
There you Go look in the mirror.

51:20

Shawn
While you're doing a shower.

51:21

Ben
Explain that to J.

51:25

Case
What, honey?

51:25

Shawn
Nothing.

51:31

Addy
I might just start speaking Trandoshan at.

51:32

Ben
Home for a while.

51:33

Addy
Even though I'm not. I'll work on.

51:37

Case
I feel like it's a good start. I mean, like, remember, like your. Your class is going to help define some of your personality stuff, but your character isn't necessarily your class and you can multi class if you want to. If, like for example, you decide, oh, I feel like the scout isn't sufficient. I want to be more aggressive and be more of a soldier or something like that. But so figure out what your character is and sort of go with that. We need to do a bit of work to sort of develop the character sheets and that's not fit for podcast time. So you're gonna put three points in this skill and three points in that, and then you get a bonus here because of your constitution modifier.

52:14

Cory
I need a constitution modifier?

52:17

Case
You have one. It's just negative, but cool. Guys, this is a good start. So. So we're going to wrap up and develop the character sheets and sort of get these into fully realized characters because this was session zero and when we come back, you guys are going to have to figure out how you're getting off. Yavin4 woo woo.
