The Scruffy Nerfherders D20

Session 8 - Siege of Susan

The nerfherders try to help a disabled rebel ship but have they taken on more than they bargained for?

Notes

Rescue and Repair Operation

The team successfully docked with a damaged civilian ship to rescue sensitive rebel personnel and repair critical systems (18:03).

  • Docking and Immediate Repairs (18:03)

    • Despite drawing enemy fire, the team maneuvered skillfully to dock without damage.

    • They found the ship defenseless with shields down and many systems offline.

    • Core repairs focused on rebooting systems, restoring shields, and powering engines.

    • The ship was deemed repairable within about one hour, stabilizing it for evacuation.

  • Medical Support and Prioritization (28:52)

    • The team identified injuries among the civilians, prioritizing a human with internal hemorrhaging and a Rodian with a broken arm.

    • Using Force healing and medical packs, the human’s condition was stabilized, while the Rodian received a makeshift splint and began assisting with ship repairs.

    • This triage ensured the most critical personnel could contribute to the mission’s success.

  • Systems Restoration and Defense Preparation (33:45)

    • Shields were successfully brought online, providing full protection around the ship.

    • Engines were powered up but propulsion and targeting systems remained offline or incomplete.

    • Sensor arrays were partially restored, allowing monitoring of external threats.

    • Weapon systems were functional but targeting was ineffective without full sensor integration.

  • Leadership and Crew Coordination (21:31)

    • The team negotiated with the ship’s captain, “Slippery Jim,” securing cooperation for repairs and evacuation.

    • The presence of a rebel clone veteran, Reggie, was introduced as a key asset for ship defense and morale.

    • The crew organized into coordinated repair and defense teams with clear roles and responsibilities.

Combat Engagement and Boarding Defense

The team engaged Imperial stormtroopers attempting to board the ship, using tactical maneuvers and environmental advantages to repel the attack (47:35).

  • Initial Boarding Defense and Fire Extinguisher Tactics (47:35)

    • The team split into two groups to flank the two Imperial transports boarding the ship.

    • They used fire extinguishers as improvised cover to blind and disorient attackers, gaining an advantage on attack rolls.

    • Early combat saw Reggie and Fender effectively damaging enemy armor despite some incoming hits.

    • The fire extinguisher tactic disrupted stormtrooper vision, allowing the rebels to inflict significant damage.

  • Close Quarters Combat and Tactical Maneuvers (53:00)

    • Hoof used the Force to manipulate a fire extinguisher to control battlefield space and maintain pressure on enemies.

    • Rebel shots successfully incapacitated multiple stormtroopers, causing visible and graphic damage.

    • The team coordinated ranged and melee attacks, balancing aggression with defense while managing injuries and suit vulnerabilities.

    • Combat intensity was high, with stormtroopers reacting to losses and the rebels adapting quickly.

  • Risky Space Maneuvers and Grappling Action (09:57 / 13:55)

    • Hoof executed a risky jump maneuver using magnetic boots and wrist lines to engage a stormtrooper in zero gravity.

    • The attack missed initially, leaving Hoof tethered to the enemy’s backpack, creating a dynamic close-quarters combat scenario.

    • Despite difficulties, the team maintained pressure, with Kaz and Foe delivering critical shots to finish off enemies.

    • The use of magnetic gear and zero-gravity tactics showed creative combat adaptations to the environment.

  • Resource Capture and Forward Planning (19:17 / 20:41)

    • After defeating stormtroopers, the team scavenged enemy gear including grenades and upgraded blasters for future engagements.

    • This resupply effort prepared the team for ongoing defense and possible counterattacks.

    • The team maintained morale and momentum, reinforcing their readiness for continued conflict onboard.

Strategic Mission Context and Threat Assessment

The rebels faced a large-scale Imperial blockade and ongoing battle while attempting to evacuate civilians and maintain operational capability (11:38).

  • Imperial Blockade and Fleet Composition (11:38)

    • The planet was surrounded by approximately 11 Star Destroyers enforcing a full blockade.

    • Rebel forces were scarce, with limited ships remaining in the sky to contest Imperial control.

    • The blockade posed a significant strategic threat, making escape and rescue operations highly dangerous.

    • Rebel squadrons like Yellow Squadron were actively engaging Imperial forces to protect evacuees.

  • Distress Signal Intelligence and Civilian Rescue (10:08)

    • The team intercepted a distress call from a damaged civilian ship with seven sensitive passengers, critical to the rebellion.

    • The ship was immobile and under attack, requiring urgent assistance either through escort or evacuation.

    • This intelligence shaped the mission’s focus on rescue and repair rather than direct engagement.

    • The presence of civilians heightened the stakes and urgency of the operation.

  • Rebel Fleet Coordination and Communication (13:01)

    • Rebel transponders and comm chatter allowed the team to identify friendly forces and ongoing engagements.

    • Contacts like Captain Pace Bringfield provided coordination and situational updates.

    • Communication protocols enabled real-time tactical decisions amid the chaotic battle environment.

    • Maintaining open lines with allied squadrons was critical for situational awareness and support.

Team Dynamics and Role Integration

The diverse rebel crew leveraged individual skills and personalities to adapt to the evolving mission demands (01:30 / 21:31).

  • Character Roles and Contributions (01:30)

    • Sean’s character, Fender Pickup, acted as an expert pilot and scout, critical in navigation and combat maneuvers.

    • Case’s character, Faj Vazkeller, contributed tactical insight and suspicion of larger conspiracies, driving mission focus.

    • Ben’s character, Fosho, a Force Adept, provided healing and support, stabilizing injured personnel and enhancing combat effectiveness.

    • Reggie, a clone veteran, brought combat experience and leadership, proving essential in boarding defense.

  • Interpersonal Conflicts and Collaboration (21:31)

    • Initial resistance from the civilian ship’s captain was overcome through negotiation and demonstration of shared goals.

    • Team members balanced humor and tension, maintaining morale during high-stress situations.

    • Roles were assigned based on skills, with technical experts focusing on repairs and soldiers on defense.

    • This balance allowed efficient handling of simultaneous repair and combat challenges.

  • Communication and Command Structure (40:54)

    • The group established clear chains of command, with Reggie and Fender leading boarding actions.

    • Coordination extended to suit allocation, weapon distribution, and combat strategy planning.

    • Real-time communication ensured quick response to boarding threats and system repairs.

    • Leadership decisions emphasized both mission success and crew safety.

Operational Challenges and Tactical Decisions

The mission required balancing repair priorities, combat readiness, and strategic withdrawal amid overwhelming enemy presence (33:45 / 44:00).

  • Repair vs. Combat Trade-offs (33:45)

    • The team prioritized shields and engines first to provide defense and basic mobility.

    • Weapon systems and targeting were secondary due to complexity and time constraints.

    • Internal sensors were restored to monitor damage but external sensor arrays lagged.

    • This staged approach aimed to stabilize the ship while preparing for inevitable combat.

  • Combat Strategy and Resource Allocation (44:00)

    • With two boarding points, the team divided into flanking groups for maximum effectiveness.

    • Use of fire extinguishers for cover showed creative use of available resources.

    • The team balanced offensive moves with defensive positioning to mitigate risk to key personnel.

    • Continuous assessment of enemy actions informed tactical shifts during the fight.

  • Environmental Hazards and Suit Limitations (50:00 / 09:57)

    • Combat in zero gravity with magnetic boots imposed unique challenges for movement and attack.

    • Suit damage and oxygen loss were real threats, requiring quick repairs and caution.

    • Risky maneuvers like tethered jumps increased vulnerability but offered tactical advantages.

    • The team adapted quickly to these constraints, leveraging technology and Force abilities.

  • Ongoing Threats and Mission Urgency (38:52)

    • Incoming Imperial transports indicated sustained boarding attempts and pressure.

    • The team recognized the need to expedite repairs and prepare for extended defense.

    • Diplomatic checks reflected mistrust among crew, highlighting internal tension under stress.

    • The urgency to escape the blockade drove rapid decision-making and risk acceptance.

Welcome to Certain Point of View, your first step into a much nerdier world. Be sure to subscribe, rate and review the podcast on itunes. Just go to certainpov.com thanks. And now your hosts, Ben Milton and Adi Thomas.

00:22

Hey, Nerdfriders. I'm Adi Thomas.

00:23

And I am Ben Milton.

00:24

Thanks for joining us. For another episode, we're doing another Star Wars D20 episode. We're continuing to the story of our.

00:31

I don't know.

00:32

Not so it ain't great.

00:35

They're not a great crew of rebels, but I'm not proud of this. They've got spunk at least. We almost had more than spunk in that last episode with the stupid naked wookie man. That was our last episode. Two episodes, three episodes ago.

00:50

Anyway, so we're continuing that story. Before we get to that, just want to remind you can follow everything from weight loss, civil war to. To all of our social media. You can find out how to be a part of the podcast through Patreon. All of that is on our website, certainpov.com, again, if you want to get updates through email, all of that is@ certainpov.com well, today we are joined by Corey, Sean and Case. And Case, go ahead and take it away.

01:19

Yep. Yeah, I am Case. I will be the Dungeon Master for today, the master of ceremonies, guiding this weird little crazy narrative that you guys have been going on. And to my right, I'm joined by Sean, who is.

01:35

Hello, my name is Sean. I play the part of Fender Pickup, Ithorian scout, excellent pilot, and I like to fold clothes.

01:49

Do you think that's how Ithorians sound in their own ear? You know, like the way your voice doesn't sound like their voice to themselves. It's like everyone else is like. But to their ears it's just this like, light melody. Now, to Sean's right, my character's name is Faj Vazkeller and he is a human Fringer.

02:15

He's overcompensating, who's confused about his feelings.

02:19

For Addie and has been kind of a loner and also thinks that there's some sort of massive conspiracy going on that they need to check out that goes even bigger or could have biggest of an impact as the Death Star did.

02:35

And I am Fosho. I'm a Force Adept, so that means I'm like a Force Light user. I'm a Keldor, so I've got plenty of breathing issues. I used to have a thing for Ben. But I've moved on from him.

02:47

Both of those things are true, by the way.

02:51

The breathing issues. Whatever. Ben, you're the one who had some weird thoughts.

02:57

Stop it.

02:58

You said it. No, I'm just pointing it out. You know, we don't want to broadcast that. No, we don't.

03:03

Thank you.

03:06

Anyway.

03:07

In game, out of game, who knows?

03:10

I wasn't gonna say anything, but now that you mention it.

03:13

And then my bestie is a Gungan, so.

03:17

Hey, what's up? This is who Flung Dung and Misa Gungan. And I am actually a soldier, a failed singer, and I like long walks on the beach. I'll say it every episode. So, any other single Gungans listening to this podcast right now? My number is 555-555-5555.

03:33

Oh, Yusa, you. Love you. Gungungungungunginsonly.com is our sponsor for today's episode.

03:44

All right, let's do this.

03:46

Gungan Tender is just Flipper.

03:53

And.

03:55

I have a thing for Addie, I think.

03:57

No, no.

03:57

We have a connection.

03:58

Oh, yeah.

03:59

Let's get into character, man.

04:04

This is when we build together.

04:07

I mean, I guess there's room for that.

04:08

We need to have a connection. I think we have a connection. A little homo. Although, last episode, we found out that your character had a little bit more of a connection with Addie.

04:16

Don't you go diet on me. Be the one to pretty much kill me. I did not. Get to your senses.

04:25

And to yours.

04:27

Yeah, baby.

04:28

If I could have everyone give me a D20 roll, please. 20. Give them that D7. 20.

04:35

19.

04:36

6, 9. Sorry.

04:39

Who had the highest? I did.

04:40

You had a 19. Wonderful. So if you'd be so kind as to give me the recap. Anyway.

04:45

All right, so last episode. So we finally escaped Mustafa's Batol Asafa's Atoll. It was a crappy situation,

04:59

So we.

04:59

Escaped this crappy situation.

05:08

Atoll.

05:08

Atoll is the planet that we escaped from.

05:11

Not a planet.

05:12

See?

05:14

Digging the hole. And there were ships with shields. Yes.

05:18

Okay.

05:22

We were attacked by Klingons.

05:27

They came from the Neutral Zone.

05:32

And we fed starving pygmies in Africa. Yeah, that's what I remember.

05:38

Wow.

05:39

There was a fight, and we survived like bosses. And there were, you know, there were ships with shields.

05:46

We got on the ship. We got on the ship.

05:47

We were able to get out, and.

05:48

We were shooting at you.

05:49

Just let it go. Wow. After Ben last week. Oh, my God.

05:55

Don't get grudged.

05:58

Okay, that's descriptive enough. You guys got away and you had enough Time to get some rest. On your way.

06:03

That's really all anybody needs to remember.

06:04

Yeah, I tried.

06:10

You should all be at full health right now, so you should be doing okay. But you came out of going in hyperspace to Argonar, and when you emerged from it, the Imperials were already there. Star Destroyers are everywhere in the sky and there are ships trying to escape, and there's a firefight going again.

06:33

Right back into the fight.

06:35

Right back out of the fire. Now you guys are a little far out. You're far enough away that you're not just right in the middle of it. They have even necessarily scanned it yet. So far in your field of vision, you can see the planet and you can see its moons, and you can see all kinds of Imperial combat going on.

06:58

Don't go there.

06:58

But it's not right there. You can pick up chatter. And if you wanted to tune into it, you'd be able to adjust your radios to actually hear some of the things going on out there. What? Why are we here?

07:12

This is where?

07:16

Rendezvous point?

07:17

Yes, thank you. I was gonna say recon point. I was like, that's not a thing. That's not a word. So, yes, this is the rendezvous point.

07:25

For us after leaving Yavin.

07:27

Oh, okay.

07:28

So they've already chased.

07:29

So are you already ready to abandon again? I mean, Imperial spy. Do we know the. Seriously? Yeah, I'm a little worried. Sir.

07:37

Sir.

07:38

Sir, at every turn you suggested we abandon the rabble alliance.

07:43

It hasn't been safe. I may be a rebel, but that doesn't mean I'm not a coward. Through the crackle of the radio chatter, you guys hear a voice coming, calling out, this is Yellow Squadron. Yellow Squadron, Yellow Squadron. I bet they'll.

08:00

I immediately want to use my computer skills.

08:03

Okay, yes, by all means, please give me a check.

08:05

How do I do this?

08:06

Roll a D20. All right? Plus whatever your computer skill is.

08:12

Computer skills? Oh, I'm on the wrong page.

08:15

Edit.

08:15

You're supposed to write four.

08:17

Got it. So he's a nine. Okay, so you got a nine.

08:19

I got a nine.

08:20

You play with it. You don't lose the signal. But you. You don't make it. Exactly. You don't improve it.

08:25

Anyway, needed a fire extinguisher for this one. Guys.

08:29

This is Captain Pace Bringfield requesting assistance civilian ship Springs Field. Pace Springsfield requesting assistance with civilian ship.

08:44

Oh.

08:45

There really is a Springfield everywhere, isn't there?

08:53

He told us.

08:54

Is there anyone? Badly.

08:55

Man, it's great. I love it. That wasn't that funny.

09:04

So early in the night.

09:06

I know.

09:08

So what did he ask again? I totally missed it. I just got stuck on a Springfield.

09:11

Civilians need help.

09:12

This is what happens when I start drinking.

09:14

All right.

09:15

Civilians need help.

09:16

Oh, oh, civilians?

09:18

Oh, real people.

09:20

Well, we're the rebels. We're kind of trying to do it for the civilians.

09:23

Right?

09:23

Yeah.

09:23

Let's go help the civilians.

09:26

So give me a spot check,

09:29

Five.

09:31

Oh, wait, minus two.

09:35

I see my ears. Drakes again.

09:37

So you try to look out the window, and, like, as you're looking out there, you notice a feature on your face, but it's like a pimple. And you start trying to push at it because you get distracted by that being like. That's right. That's why my nurse hurts.

09:53

You know who would know if we have any?

09:56

Like, zit cream is probably Fender. I wonder if he wants one of those towels.

10:08

Hey, does anyone have repair?

10:12

You want to repair this pimple?

10:13

Yeah,

10:15

Yeah, I do. Yeah. Okay. If you give me over a 10 on a repair check, I'll say you assist with him being able to connect the radio. 12. Okay, so, all right, so I'm going to say you give. You get a plus two bonus and a reroll on your computer scope just now. Not in.

10:35

You don't. You're not adding 12.

10:38

All right, we got this.

10:40

Come on, Fives, don't fill me now. Just put it behind a one.

10:44

Seventeen. All right. Yeah. So you actually pick up quite a bit of info because of him sort of futzing with the receiver. You were able to actually lock onto some more information and get transmitted data about where in the fleet. Everything is. You also get a little more data on the back and forth conversation between Yellow Squadron and the civilian ship. You hear them talking about how they are under attack, but they have sensitive personnel who are civilians, non combatants, and they're trying to get away. Their ship is damaged and a lot of people are dead, but they have at least seven passengers, many of whom are sensitive to the rebellion. You were able to identify where in the fleet the distress signal was coming from, and they gave additional information for people to come assist them. And what's your spot check?

11:41

Yeah, can you get a roll, please? Right.

11:44

15.

11:45

Okay, so we'll say that Addie's actually actively looking out the window, and Ben is trying to get our radar set up to actually show everything that's going on. So with your spot check, you see a dogfight, you don't actually see that many vessels left. Actually, when you look at it, the whole. For a Full evacuation of a planet. It's fairly sparse. There's Star Destroyers, and that really makes it look much more like a bulky battle. But there's just not that many rebel ships left up in the sky.

12:16

How many Star Destroyers are we dealing.

12:18

With spread out around a planet? We're talking probably about 11.

12:24

Oh, holy crap.

12:25

But it's all around the planet. Like they were trying to do a full blockade.

12:28

It's a complete blockade. Like a real blockade?

12:30

Yes.

12:30

Not like a Trade Federation blockade.

12:32

Correct. We can get right through and then just have one ship left. Just one ship?

12:38

Just one ship.

12:40

All right. And Ben? So while you're trying to get the actual radar going, you're able to pick up Rebel transponders. And you can identify several fleets, or rather squadrons, of like, X Wing and like A Wing squads, like, going out and engaging the rebels. Yellow Squad, you might recall, were the ones who were assisting you before. And you will recall that Pace Bringfield, the person. Yes, A friend of yours. Someone who made sure that your ship was allowed, or the Imperial transport ship you had was able to bring you in. There is one ship, as they noted. It's fairly large, but there's damage and there's not that many survivors. But they are still important.

13:24

Is Reggie still with us?

13:25

Yes. Yes.

13:27

I wonder what Reggie thinks of this.

13:28

I'm right here. I don't care for this. If they capture me, I can't say what I'll do.

13:39

Capture you?

13:40

What do you mean?

13:40

I'm more worried about what they'll do.

13:43

Well, don't you worry about that. I'll make sure that we all die first. Wait. What?

13:49

Wait.

13:51

Let's go.

13:51

Did I just see what I thought I heard?

13:53

We go to the civilians. Yeah.

13:54

We have to jettison.

13:55

This guy just saved our life. You sick. Sick? He's still pissed we sold the towels. Betty is.

14:07

But they were beautiful.

14:09

I saw them myself.

14:12

FASA showed everyone pictures.

14:15

Soft to the touch.

14:22

It was going so well that it got dirty.

14:27

I didn't think it could get dirtier than shaved Wookiees. And there we go.

14:31

That's just a towel.

14:32

Stop doing. You actually are hailed, Rebel Y Wing. Identify yourselves. Identify yourselves.

14:45

You have a call sign. Did we even find out what the call sign for?

14:48

Rogue 2.

14:51

Rogue 1.5. Susan.

14:54

Oh, that's right. Susan's the name of the ship.

14:56

This isn't Susan, but we'll call her. This is Susan.

14:59

Is this Susan?

14:59

Yeah.

14:59

You're in Susan.

14:59

Oh, it is Susan.

15:01

Why did I think we traded Susan?

15:02

Because we never got a Chance to sell the ship.

15:04

This was a rebel hail. This wasn't an Imperial hail. This was rebel ship Susan. This is rebel ship Susan.

15:09

Susan's the name of Susan.

15:10

Yeah. There's like, a woman in a corner of the ship Susan.

15:13

You know, that's what I thought. Was that what you were thinking?

15:15

No, I shouldn't remember the name of the ship.

15:17

Yeah, neither was I. I was.

15:18

Yeah.

15:19

I wasn't thinking. There was a woman on the ship named Susan.

15:22

What kind of dumb human would name their ship Susan?

15:26

That's what I was thinking.

15:27

All right, all right.

15:28

Stupid human.

15:29

Stupid human. Glad I moved on from. You're never gonna finish a sentence in this episode. I hope not. Oh, man. Yeah, well, I would. It's my ship.

15:53

Pilot, identify yourself.

15:56

This is Faust.

15:57

Vash killer. Oh, hi, Fallas.

16:03

Hey.

16:03

I see you made it.

16:06

Yeah, you too.

16:08

Do I remember who this is?

16:09

This is Pace.

16:09

Right? This is Pace. Yeah. Oh, hey, Pace.

16:12

Pace is our friend.

16:13

Tell me.

16:14

Our friend.

16:16

Yeah.

16:17

Do you have hoof or foe with you? Hoof. Pho. You made it. I'm so happy to see that you're alive.

16:24

What's going on, man?

16:25

Oh, my God, dude.

16:30

Really feel the hate, guys.

16:33

I was so worried when the ship went missing. So, you guys, have you let the human name it Susan?

16:38

Oh, he kind of thinks he's the boss of it. He's, you know, he's a real. Not just a human.

16:44

He's a huge ass.

16:45

I'm only here because you told me I'd be writing Susan. I didn't know it was a ship.

16:51

Well, you're always the kidder. Oof.

16:56

Just kidding. He had no idea. Why isn't anybody listening to me about this? I don't understand.

17:03

So.

17:06

Do you still have that authorian with you?

17:08

Yeah, yeah, Fender's with us.

17:10

Fender. That's right. That's right. Hey, so why are you letting the human on the comm?

17:15

Oh,

17:18

Son of a bitch.

17:21

Because he's very forceful, right? He's mean to me. Push me out of the way.

17:26

I'm not. Damn it.

17:28

He's a bully.

17:29

I can't believe it's come to this. Listen, that transport ship down there, it needs assistance, and unfortunately, we all have. We only have fighters still in the sky. The Imperials, I mean, they. They came pretty fast. We didn't expect it, but weren't stupid. We were moving on almost immediately. So we've got most of the guys out, but we have civilians on that ship that are Imperial important. And I don't think I need to explain what I mean by that, you might have to.

17:59

To me.

18:01

Do you need us to escort the.

18:03

Ship, or do we need to actually get civilians off the ship?

18:05

The ship's immobile. You either need to fix the ship or get them off there. And you actually have the ability to have a couple people come on. Right, that's one of the larger size Y wings.

18:15

Yes.

18:16

Yeah. So if you could help us, that would be great. Otherwise, there's no way we're going to get them away.

18:22

All right, let's go ahead and. Vendor, let's go ahead and dock with the ship.

18:26

All right, so you're going to give me two back to back piloting checks. The first one is to get over there without drawing fire. The second one is to actually dock.

18:38

Yeah, we're not making it there. Sorry. You guys are screwed.

18:46

Okay, so you do draw some fire, but you're not actually hit. But it does increase the amount of things coming at both you and the support ship. They thought it was dead in the water, so they didn't have a reason to attack it.

18:58

Does our ship have a shield, or can I look to see if I can turn on a shield?

19:01

Most ships have shields.

19:02

Have a shield. Not all ships have shields.

19:06

Not all, but most. Most do.

19:09

Y wings definitely do.

19:11

Yes, ours does. Yes.

19:12

So it is on. So I don't have to, like, make sure it's on for him.

19:16

Your ships.

19:17

Well,

19:20

Are we within range of anything that we can actually.

19:22

No, they're all kind of just coming at you if you're gonna, like, actually come to a boarding position.

19:27

We saw three, I think, when you didn't sell.

19:29

We need to be doing invasive maneuvers. I know.

19:35

Yeah.

19:35

Give me. Give me an evasive maneuver. All right, here we go.

19:39

All right, looking good. 15 plus. Let's see 9, 24.

19:45

All right, sweet. Yeah. So they start firing at you, but you're able to just completely get away from them. You like, do, you know, you spin, because that's nice. And the shots. Cheers.

20:02

There we go.

20:06

And you're able to get to the ship without actually getting hit in any way, which was very impressive to the guys. You're able to pull up alongside it and lock into their airlock and open up. What do you guys do now?

20:25

Now that you're docked, let's go ahead and board the ship and take a look at what we need to. So we can steal.

20:31

Right. Repair.

20:35

Who has the best repair skill here? Definitely not me.

20:41

I have six.

20:42

I have two.

20:43

All right, see what I can do.

20:45

What am I repairing well, we gotta take a. Well, we first gotta take a look. Is there. Is there like a captain or someone we could talk to see what the problem is?

20:55

Apparently Santa Claus.

20:58

A.

21:01

A Gungan in leather pants and a very blousy shirt steps forward. Usa. Yousa thinks you're gonna born us? Misa Sleepery Jean. I am the captain. Captain of this ship.

21:26

Oh no. You guys cannot.

21:30

Who's a pretty boy? Want to talk to me? Come on. Now that one of you Yusa Misa Ganga. Who's a Yousa Misa Huang Dong. Huang Dong. Yes.

21:43

So.

21:47

We fly from big.

21:50

We come in peace.

21:53

So you said you some people gonna help us like fix the ship? Yeah, yeah. Misa Helper. That's a good plan. Spank.

22:01

What?

22:03

Spank?

22:04

The ability to speak doesn't make you intelligent.

22:06

Oh, so he's some sort of. No. My pride. Qui Gon.

22:18

Right.

22:18

Huh.

22:21

Oh, that's brutal. We've had a Phantom Menace quote today. That's not good.

22:25

Wow. Kasa, yousa understand the this ship's important to me.

22:37

Misa understand.

22:38

User understand that to the boar.

22:41

Misa understand.

22:43

He definitely doesn't understand.

22:46

So you sir Flat face. Yosa, that's how you Ben.

22:51

That'd be failures.

22:53

Yes.

22:55

Yousa need to understand a couple of things. Yousa welcome in onto Slippery Jim ship in Slippery Jim. He's so particular about his stuff.

23:08

Hey, Slippery Jim. You want out of here or what? Cause we're the ones rescuing you.

23:19

Intimidate check.

23:20

What's that?

23:20

That would be an intimidate check.

23:23

I don't think I have much intimidate. We'll see what we can do.

23:26

That's not great.

23:27

Get it.

23:27

Okay. Awesome. You can do it.

23:30

Yeah, you can. I do nothing.

23:32

3.

23:33

The 3.

23:35

He's not particularly intimidated. I tried.

23:39

Guys, show them your mean face.

23:46

Misa happy to keep everyone with their own stuff. Right now we're common cause. Yeah, sure.

23:51

Oh yeah.

23:52

We. Okay. Misa tell you this, but we. You said cost me anything. I will, you know, get repaid. No, I. Slippery Jim.

24:09

We actually have a guy here who can help us repair failures.

24:11

You can.

24:14

You're basically a space handyman, right?

24:17

Today you are short tongue. You should listen here. Yes sir.

24:23

Wait. No sir.

24:24

Yeah, what? Get to fixing the things. Show me where. Sleepery Jim don't show you where. Can you have somebody show me where? Yeah, we got the guys to show you where. Can you. You know what? All right. You walk on in. Okay. Yes sir. You said doing the right thing. Thank you, sir. Yeah.

24:45

Where Are all this guy's bitch.

24:47

Super.

24:47

Jim, I hear there is some cargo that we may need to take care of and get out of here.

24:55

I should tell you that I have seen every part of the galaxy, but, yes, there are many things in this world that are hard to explain that are important here. Misa show you. And he leads you into the ship. He leads you in. Two hours later, there's two rebel soldiers, a human and a Twi', lek. And then there's a Rodian and a human also in there. Sleeper jam leads you in. Okay, Yusa boys need to understand. Wisa need to keep on moving. So yousa gonna help because thesea guys. Thesea guys are going to actually stop the Empire from fucking killing us. Okay. All right, cool. See you guys later. So you said getting to work. Yes, sir. Talk to. Talk to. These guys are the type. It's just me, right? You see guys all walked in. Okay.

26:04

I'm looking around for any computer thing I can help fix.

26:07

Yeah, yeah. Like, tons of stuff is offline because.

26:10

That's where I'm proficient in the most. So I'm gonna try.

26:13

Yeah, like, there's, like, screens of systems that are still just rebooting and, like, need to be, like, started in safe mode and then, like, having, like, the bugs. Yeah.

26:21

All right, let's do it.

26:22

So give me a computer use. Check.

26:25

17 plus.

26:28

4. All right. Yeah. You walk over to one panel and you. You futz with it. You disconnect one wire, like, reconnect another one. And after a second, like, actually reboots properly, at which point you're able to, like, type into it and you can actually pinpoint, like, here's all the structural problems with the ship.

26:49

Oh, what do you guys make of this?

26:52

There's plenty of stuff to get fixed. Let me take a look at that. And then, like, wherever I see, like, there's something that's easy for me to repair quickly. Can I do a repair check?

27:02

I have a search.

27:04

Let's do the search check first. Boom.

27:09

Where's Walda?

27:10

17 total.

27:13

Yes. Okay.

27:14

Yep, sure.

27:16

So what you're able to identify is that the ship is repairable. It will take a little while that the shields are not up on it, so it's actually kind of defenseless while you're locked in there. But it is repairable. It's going to take you about an hour to get it up and running. There's again, it's sort of. Even though from a distance, it looks like a huge fleet around the planet, like, individual Space is still very large between everything. So it's not like they're just all on top of you and you'll just get shot immediately.

27:49

So we don't need to rush to.

27:50

Gun anything necessarily do. But it's.

27:54

We're not in a great position.

27:56

Surely could happen at any moment. Right? Yeah.

27:58

So can I tell if there's anyone injured and if I can maybe heal anyone or take care of anybody?

28:07

Yeah. Give me.

28:09

He'll.

28:10

Guys, I still have med packs too, so keep that. Remember, we don't need to use it now.

28:15

You might need it when I'm injured.

28:18

When you punch him in the back of the head again, we might need it. You never know. I just don't know where that came.

28:22

You need a survival check first. Okay. Or a spot check. Whichever is higher for you.

28:29

Let's see.

28:31

Spot check is higher.

28:32

Okay.

28:34

20.

28:35

Okay. This was to actually try to identify who you should be focusing on because like. Yeah, you want. So you go through the whole group and you see that the human that was pointed to you is. Or as one of the two valuable ones. He has a lot of internal hemorrhaging and may not live through the night. So he's probably the highest priority to heal.

29:05

Okay, let me go ahead and I'll D20 for heal.

29:09

Yeah. Oh, also, the Rodian is not as badly injured, but you suspect that he would be the most immediately beneficial.

29:20

Let me try to help the human first and then. Yeah.

29:25

So am I allowed to spot this at the same time and go help the other one? Because I think I could.

29:30

24 trig injury.

29:32

Yeah. So. And who were you trying to heal?

29:37

The human.

29:38

Oh, okay. Yeah, you successfully.

29:40

They're the ones that get all the.

29:41

Awards in Star Wars.

29:45

Those are short tongues. Glory hounds. Anyway, so you treat the human, and with your Force powers, you're able to min. Some of this internal hemorrhaging. Area that appeared to be bruised initially actually starts to recede. And with the power of the Force, you are pushing back his wounds and mending his flesh. And so he goes from quickly fading to actually being stabilized and functional. He goes like. Thank you. I don't know what to say. I'm Garth. Thank you.

30:29

Party on. Garth,

30:32

What's the plan? Can I help right now?

30:37

Garth, go ahead and just continue to rest because we gotta help the Rodian as well.

30:40

No, I can help. I'm a system tech. I mean, mostly for communication systems, but I could do something. Point me in the right direction. Sure.

30:48

Can you do anything with the thing I just fixed?

30:50

Yeah.

30:51

See if math needs help. Since right now he can see what all is the problem right now with the ship, he might be the best person to direct you.

30:58

I mean, what. Sure. What can I help you with? Do we need exterior systems, internal systems? What kind of thing do you need? Any sort of. Do you need sensors set up to. To pick up signals?

31:09

Can you help with the shields?

31:11

Shields, Sure, I can do the shields. Yeah, sure. Okay, I can go work on that. Thank you. Thank you. Nice. And he moves over to a panel to start working on that. All right, so the Rodian. You guys want to see what you can do with the Rodian. You want to do treat injury because he's right now healing the other guy. Yeah, treat injury. Okay, so the. The Rodian had a broken arm and you're able to like make a makeshift splint for it so that his hand, which is able to function, is able to like hold things and do take some weight. It's like painful form, but he's able to like, help. And he. He's actually a slicer. So he starts working on the computers to. It is like a fairly good technical one, as well as coding one.

32:01

So he's able to try to rewire and get systems back online just like you were before.

32:05

Nice.

32:06

So eventually the navigational systems are actually starting to kick in. The engines haven't kicked on and you don't have any sensors arrays, but the shields are up and you are able to theoretically steer once you actually can move.

32:21

Yeah, let's go tell the guy that the main guy.

32:24

Slipper Jim.

32:25

Slipper Jim. Let's go tell him what we just did and see what needs to be done next.

32:28

Usa. I understand, sir. You, sir. You, sir, understand the way that this needs to work. As long as that short tongue doesn't screw his end of the bargain up, this is great.

32:39

Well, hopefully he'll get the engines online real soon.

32:41

Yes, he's a better.

32:45

What can we do next? What needs to be done? What's top priority?

32:49

Sleepery Jim is more of a big picture guy. You should need to be the ones to go and do that. All right, Mr. Glad you, sir. Understand, Misa. Understand you so bad.

33:14

We need shields, right? So we do have shields.

33:16

We don't have guards working on the.

33:17

Shield guards working on the shields.

33:19

Let's go.

33:19

Let's go find out what Bear's doing.

33:24

So Garth is passion to everything. He looks like he is very familiar with the procedure of getting shields up, activating the right power sources into the right fields in the Right. Sequence. So when you guys come over, the shields are up and you now have protection generally around you. You know that if attacks are coming from certain directions, maybe Susan will take the damage first. But at the moment, it's a full enclosure of you guys.

33:58

So is he almost done? Is he done or.

34:01

He's pretty much done, but let's find out what Phelius was doing while you guys were tending to the wounds.

34:10

Repair.

34:11

Right. So the engines.

34:12

Yeah.

34:12

Okay, so you're working on the engines. Yep. All right, so give me a repair check. 24. All right, you're down there, you're just like. Everyone's just connecting wires and doing all that, but you're actually working on the engines and you're soldering pieces that had been broken, patching any sort of leaks that are occurring. And after a little bit of time, the engine actually starts to come online. It's like fits and stops and then you, like, hit it once and then, like, comes on again for real. But the engines are up, and so you have power going everywhere. You don't have propulsion yet. You still need to work on the actual, like, exhaust system for it, but the engines are actually moving, are actually, like, running. All right, well, we're. That's a lot better. Okay, awesome. So if you guys are back with Garth.

35:06

Garth just got the shields online.

35:07

Nice.

35:08

So guns and sensory arrays, I guess, are.

35:11

Sure. Since I can. I mean, sensory. That's the thing. I do. What do you think we need to be looking at? Do we need to be looking more at our own systems or out?

35:21

What did you see here based on.

35:22

Well, let's take care of the out systems first, just so we can.

35:25

Yeah, yeah, I can do that. Sure. I'll go work on that.

35:31

How's the Rodian doing?

35:34

The Rodian has successfully gotten on your. Internal diagnosis systems in play, so you are able to monitor damage that's going on inside. And you're seeing that almost everything's fixed at this point, but you don't necessarily know what the state of things outside are.

35:59

And of course, we're waiting for those to get along. The guards working on that.

36:03

So.

36:03

All right, so who is ever is the rest of the. The crew that we've seen? Like, are. Is everyone else good there? Like, do we need you can.

36:13

You are welcome to check.

36:14

Yeah. So.

36:18

Yeah, right there.

36:19

Failures.

36:19

Look a little pale.

36:20

He's gonna throw up on me.

36:21

Yeah, I don't feel great. All right. What'd you give him?

36:28

Corey?

36:29

I. He gave me too much. I feel like Addie Yeah, let's go. Spot like. Can I do a spot check to see like what's. Well, we have everything but propulsion. Can I fix the exhaust system? Yes, yes, by all means. Okay, Seven, you're working on it, but nothing's really happening. So. Reggie. His voice like echoes about you boys might want to warn them about me.

37:09

Oh yeah. Reggie's a little bit of a tough pill to swallow.

37:13

I'm about to walk on the ship, so.

37:17

Slippery Jim,

37:20

What's I can do for you?

37:22

Just so you know, we got a.

37:23

Friend of ours who just really helped us get out of this tough situation, you know?

37:27

I mean, you know, at least I.

37:29

Understand he can be a little bit.

37:31

Of a challenge to deal with. But he's an old clone veteran.

37:37

You must be joking. He's a what?

37:40

Clone veteran? Yes.

37:43

I don't think so. Whisa running from the Imperials with. Not inviting him on sleepy regimes.

37:52

He's a clone. He's good. He's helped with the rebel cause, but he's helping us. And he's been a great asset to help fight off against some stormtroopers. And he's coming on board. He can make sure we're all clear and good over here. But we just want to let you know he's about to come onto the ship.

38:10

Yeah.

38:10

Besides, I think he's only half clone, right?

38:13

Yeah,

38:16

A half clone. So just regular child.

38:24

He got his batch a little mixed up.

38:29

It wasn't pure batter.

38:30

That's true. Somehow his part of the batch was from Atlanta and the other part was Jango Fett.

38:40

What did I miss?

38:43

Well, how did he become Southern all of a sudden?

38:48

You understand? I told you it wasn't supposed to come out that way. It just did at some point, some horrible point. I don't know why. I don't know why.

39:02

So what are we trying to accomplish? Like what is it we need to accomplish right now?

39:06

We need to help get this ship out of here.

39:07

So we're trying to get the ship out of. So we got the shields up. So what's gonna make the ship fly?

39:12

Well, we gotta get the rest of this.

39:13

Hey, foe should have given a diplomacy check.

39:17

Well, sure.

39:18

Oh crap.

39:19

And there's your sign.

39:23

Oh, this is not good. 11.

39:30

You sir. Okay, sir, if you make a good appoint we allow him but. And he pats the gun on his hip. It's like I'll be watching him.

39:47

This guy a pirate or part of the rebellion?

39:50

I guess we have all types. We do have failures as part of.

39:53

Our group in these Days, what's the difference,

39:58

Right?

40:01

Ithorian in these days. What's the difference? Well. You okay? You should bring him on. We. Sacy, is it all right if I come in?

40:18

Yeah, come on in. Reggie. We're good.

40:21

Okay. Now I thought I should warn you guys. I know that it's your ship and all, but. Well, we might be. And as he says that the screens come on because Garth got the external sensors picked up expecting company. And two imperial transports touch down with troopers in space gear stepping out with magnetic footprint boots to cling to the side of the ship.

40:54

Do we have any gear? Can we do the spot check Or Let me ask the bridge. Do we have any gear so we can take the fight out to them.

41:02

Before they get on board or.

41:05

Yes, of course. We are rebels here. We are prepared for quite a few eventualities. You. You, sir.

41:15

Me sir?

41:16

Yes, sir. As you might expect, I've got a suit for myself. You're more than welcome to borrow it.

41:23

Your suit?

41:23

Yes, yes. And then of course I will not be able to be out there because you sir, such a great soldier. And you're doing such a great job out there.

41:34

Well, so hoof me are there. I want to ask for any able bodied volunteers to help us take the.

41:40

Fight out to them.

41:41

It's you two gunmen. Yeah. Guys. Zeff, get over here. And the human natural get up and they know where the stuff is. They go to lockers and start grabbing the suits for you guys. But also for everyone else.

41:57

We need you to grab the fire extinguishers.

42:00

It's time the fire extinguishers.

42:04

Yousa mana strategy. I see that. I like to cut a. Eugene.

42:08

I have experience, Mr. Shoyo.

42:13

I'm so very excited to see that. By the way, thank you Goth for getting the screens back on. I would hate to not know what was going on.

42:20

So I kind of want to throw out my plan here.

42:25

So we got four people, right?

42:26

So you got the two soldiers you've got. Well, if Hoof is volunteering to go out and then Reggie of course is ready.

42:35

So we got six people.

42:36

Okay.

42:37

So.

42:37

Alright, so we got six guys. How many troopers are we dealing with right now? We got two transports.

42:43

There's two transports. One is docked on top of Susan. The other one is docked on the ship that you're currently on. They are trying to cut in kind of like in the matrix when the ships or like when the spider things attach them.

42:59

Reapers.

43:00

Yeah, so that's going on but also they're getting out on the side and Trying to find airlocks that they can get in on.

43:07

All right, let's take care of this ship first because we got to take care of this cargo. As much as I'd like to take care of Susan, I think we got to focus on this on the ship first.

43:17

Slippery Jim agrees.

43:18

I thought you went Slippery Jim. I thought Yusa would thanks you.

43:26

So, so here's what I want to do. I want to. So. So we've got. So we got six guys. Okay, Divide us up into groups three and be prepared to flank them. But I want to open up with throwing out and exploding the fire extinguishers so we have some cover so we can attack them both, open fire and then, you know, finish off anybody at hand if we need to.

43:54

The Twilight goes like, yes, this sounds like a good plan.

44:00

All right.

44:00

I've seen the fire extinguisher tricks. They are good. I've seen them.

44:07

All right, so your reputation precedes me.

44:12

I'm gonna have Fendir lead the two. Well, actually Fendir, Reggie and the Twi'.

44:21

Lek.

44:21

And then me who and the human. Right. The human will divide up and failures.

44:31

You're working on the engines right now. It's mostly come online. However, it was kind of like that scene in Star Trek the Wrath of Khan where you're working on the radiation and your suit's not quite covering it and so you're starting to get sick because it's increasing. However, after quite a bit of work, you are able to get them turned on. The ship is currently in an awkward position to accelerate because it's being docked and boarded on two sides and still locked in with Susan. Oh no, that's not good. Alright, so everything's pretty much under control here. I can go find the rest of the guys. The weapon systems for the ship itself are not online, so it'd better to work well, potentially. You don't know.

45:19

You also would need to go find out more information because you were down working on the engines about like the actual boarding part. Because you weren't part of that meeting. Yeah, I want to roll. Let's just. Let's fix these guns quick. Okay, give me a repair check. 10 total. Okay. It's starting to come together. But the targeting systems themselves aren't online yet, so they're theoretically functional. But they're not in perfect working condition. For the most part they'd be just firing blind. Oh, okay. Okay. So which group wants to come out first onto the ship? You guys were essentially going to Two different airlocks to flank them.

46:14

We'll start with Reggie and Fender, then,

46:15

You know, Reggie and Fender. Okay, let's. Let's come on out. And he, like, steps forward. I'm ready to die. I'm already dead.

46:28

No one's dying today, Reggie. No one's dying today.

46:33

So strong.

46:34

Reggie tries to climb out of the airlock.

46:42

All right, stay with me, Reggie. All right, I got you.

46:46

I'm ready to die.

46:47

No one's dying today.

46:48

Here we go. He, like, cocks his gun. He climbs out, magnetic boot attached to the ship. And he steps forward three times, and he goes like, target acquired. And you see a group of three stormtroopers patrolling, looking for the door that you guys actually just came out of. Everyone who's involved in this, give me an initiative role.

47:13

20.

47:17

Yeah. Oh, it's. Initiative is on the front, the top right.

47:24

Eighteen. Okay, that's intelligent.

47:29

Yeah, actually, sorry, Initiative. I always forget.

47:33

Oh, there it is. Oh, okay. 10.

47:35

Reggie opened. Opens fire on these stormtroopers. They. They begin to return fire. Fin Deer, what is your ace, or what is your.

47:56

Defense.

48:03

Directly underneath? Abilities?

48:04

Yeah, got it.

48:07

Thirteen.

48:08

Boom.

48:09

Okay, so one shot hits you.

48:12

Ow.

48:14

And you take eight points of vitality damage.

48:18

I felt that now.

48:20

But you're in. You're in a spacesuit, so it takes some of the brunt of it. So you actually aren't really hurt by it so much as it's more just like you're flustered by the fact that your suit got hit in the first place, so it actually might tear or something like that. So it's really terrifying to you in that regard, and that sort of saps your strength, as it were. Okay, so they've fired at you. You can return fire. What. What do you want to do?

48:50

I'm going to return fire.

48:51

All right, do it. So give me a ranged attack roll.

48:57

I missed three.

49:01

Yeah, so you fire at them, and you don't hit any of them. The. And it was. Sorry, it was just the two.

49:11

No, it was the Twilight.

49:12

Oh, the Twilight soldier. Okay, so he's also opening fire.

49:16

Well, did anyone throw the fire extinguisher yet?

49:19

We don't have those. You guys have those?

49:21

No, no, we have three fire extinguishers. So one group went with.

49:24

Okay, sorry. So the Twi' lek throws the fire extinguisher. There we go,

49:30

Floating off to space.

49:32

And takes the shot.

49:33

You guys would have walked him through that fire extinguisher.

49:37

He takes the shot at the fire extinguisher to cause it to explode, to give them some cover, and he misses. So it's just floating there in space, up against. It's floating there.

49:46

He comes back around, guys. No, no.

49:48

It's not orbiting around. It kind of just like, floated out a little bit. Like in between. In the field, between the two of you.

49:55

It'll come back.

49:56

And it's just sort of like sitting there now, like its momentum already ended as you guys are approaching each other. Firing. Okay, so Reggie fires off a shot and hits one of the troopers. And he damaged part of their armor. It's still functioning, but he gets a hit, then Reggie, Then Fendir, you take another shot. No, no, sorry. How many vitality points do you have left? Five. Okay, so you. You take five points of vitality damage. So now you. You're down to wound at this point. You're the suit again, took the hit. It's still. It's still hanging in there. But it's like one of those scenes where you, like. You can hear, like, the. Like, the fabric starting to stretch, and like, any moment it might rip. Is the worry that you have on this one.

51:03

Reggie, hold me. Reggie, is that you?

51:06

Oh, no, I can't see.

51:07

Reggie.

51:09

What?

51:11

Reggie also.

51:13

I mean, his eyes are on both sides.

51:16

Reggie also takes a hit.

51:19

Reggie who takes a hit?

51:20

Reggie. The shot hits him, like, squarely, like, in, like, the pectoral. Sorry if I. No, like the shoulder area. And you see his arm fling back as he takes the hit. You think he really felt that one?

51:41

Man, I bet you really felt that one.

51:47

So.

51:52

Who was that? Was that failures? Working on the engines. How do you hear everything? How do you hear everything?

51:58

Fin. Deer. What do you want to do right now?

52:01

I want to live.

52:03

What are you going to do to live?

52:05

I'm going to survive.

52:08

This is not one of those situations you could. Yeah, you can take a survival check to, like, look for cover or something like that, but that's not going to be your action.

52:15

Can I still fire?

52:16

Yes, you can do both.

52:17

I'm an. I'm fire.

52:18

Okay, what are you firing at?

52:20

What are you firing at?

52:22

The bad guys?

52:24

Yeah, go for it.

52:24

Okay, here we go.

52:25

All right.

52:26

Look at guys.

52:29

11.

52:31

What am I adding that to for you?

52:33

Your melee attack roll.

52:34

Melee?

52:34

Oh, no. Pardon me. Your ranged attack roll.

52:36

My range 13.

52:37

Okay, you hit one of them. Give me a 2D6 roll.

52:47

That would be a 5.

52:49

Okay. Yeah, you hit him squarely. And he reels back a bit. So they're still going. So now Reggie takes a shot, and he doesn't actually shoot at them. He shoots at the fire extinguisher that was floating in space. And the foam explodes out just like a spike snowflake of foam in space. And it obscures their vision directly there with this just gooey shit that's getting in their visors. And when they try to wipe it away, it's just there. The goo just can't get. They can't get it off their eyes. Twice foam just enveloping their eyes. And now you actually got. You guys are all getting advantage on attack rolls because they can't even see you to try to avoid it.

53:35

All right, I said we throw the Twi' lek at him. What?

53:41

What? That sounds like a very human thing to do.

53:46

Wait a minute. An opportunity to check that off my bucket list.

53:50

Think about this, guys. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

53:53

All right, what are we gonna do?

53:55

Okay, so they fire wildly. And one of them hits Reggie.

54:00

Reggie.

54:01

No.

54:06

And you hear a hiss of air come from his suit, I should say here, over the comms. You hear it?

54:15

Yeah.

54:17

Yeah.

54:21

Thanks, John.

54:22

So over the comms, you hear the air escaping his suit. And he's. He's reeling back now. Fendir, it's your turn. Save Reggie.

54:37

Let's see. I can move silently.

54:39

Nope.

54:39

Nope.

54:41

Can listen.

54:42

Nope. No.

54:43

Take another shot.

54:44

Take another shot.

54:46

Okay.

54:46

All right.

54:49

20.

54:49

I used the Whisper Strong in that one.

54:54

We do have a connection. We haven't gotten there yet.

54:57

That didn't cost you any vitality points. Because of that connection, I was actually about to cost you 1.

55:02

But not rolling it.

55:08

4.

55:09

But he has advantage, right?

55:10

Yes. So roll once more. Okay. You can't be able to beat that. Come on. Jesus Christ.

55:15

7.

55:17

You miss the guys.

55:19

Why'd I come out here?

55:20

I don't know.

55:24

Seriously don't know.

55:26

So Reggie does a repair check on his own armor to fix the airflow issue. And he succeeds. So you can hear him again over the counter. Like, I got this. Hold on. And he repairs the chunk in his armor, but that takes his turn. So they're still trying to. To clear their eyes and fire off.

55:51

And.

55:55

One of them fires and hits the. The Twi' lek soldier. But it doesn't seem to do any real damage. It just. It braces his leg without actually caught, like, cutting into him. Fender, you're back up again. Okay.

56:11

Fire again.

56:13

Right? Yeah, sure.

56:14

Okay.

56:18

Christmas.

56:19

7.

56:21

If you're shooting them, you have advantage, so you can roll one tomorrow. There we go. All right.

56:28

19.

56:28

Okay. Yeah. You successfully hit one rebel. And you see. You crack open the helmet, exposing him to space. And you see this human boy. His face just go pale as blood rushes out of his eyes. Oh, no. And he just sort of drifts up with his magnetic shoes holding him on the ground just as he tries to float away, blood gushing.

57:00

He's like a zombie balloon.

57:03

Like a zombie banana. You haven't. No, but one's down.

57:08

All right, you got two to go, right?

57:10

Yeah. So the Twi' lek takes a shot, and he hits another one and kills that one as well.

57:20

Rebels. There we go.

57:22

This one. The chest piece explodes outwards. And you can see the rush of bodily fluid coming from.

57:34

Star wars is PG 13.

57:35

This is not the Disney version.

57:37

You're gonna have fun with that music.

57:38

Disney's not okay with this. Fuck Disney. I'm not okay with this. Not feeling great, man.

57:48

The blood and sweat and vomit.

57:51

He's the aristocrat. He's listening right now.

57:54

You can smell him shit in his.

57:55

Suit from his chest orifice that has been formed from the explosion at his chest plat. Or his chest. Yeah, his chest plate. Boom.

58:08

Oh, dude. Need him over there.

58:13

What?

58:14

Come on, man.

58:19

Killing me.

58:19

Says the guy who's a fan of Preacher. Yeah.

58:32

So they try to clear off their eyes completely, make a more concerted effort. And one of them.

58:40

It's only one left.

58:42

You're correct. Which means that all those rolls I just did was for three and two to die. So none of them succeed. None of the one. None of the one sucker succeeds at clearing off his visor because he doesn't even realize that his two compatriots are dead. So then is there a chance he.

59:06

Pulls a fin and just joins us?

59:10

Ridgy fires but misses his. You can see that he's, like, dragging his right side so that it's really throwing off his shot. And then he goes again. Pardon me, the. And the last stormtrooper is able to, like, clear off his visor, and he, like, stops, and he, like, looks around, and he sees his, like, two dead friends, both like, these, like, fleshy balloons floating away but tied to the earth. And he's, like, actually visibly distressed and freaked out by this whole thing. So do you want to shoot him?

59:56

Yeah, let's get more blood.

59:57

All right, so give him a shot. He's freaked out now.

01:00:01

He's gonna pay for boarding this ship. Nine.

01:00:09

Give it. Give it an advantage.

01:00:11

Right.

01:00:11

Roll.

01:00:15

17.

01:00:15

Yes. You hit him. You hit him. Give me a damage roll of 2d6,4. Okay, you blast Him. He's still standing. And he actually looks like now focused back on the fight. After being, like, just in shock that he. His two friends were already dead, he assumed that he was much more formidable. And now it comes back to Reggie's turn, and Reggie hates him. And Reggie kills him.

01:00:50

Reg.

01:00:50

All right, Reggie.

01:00:52

Well, I guess he was really already dead.

01:00:58

Full circle.

01:01:01

Let's go. Let's go with Thorian. Onward. Onward. And he rushes forward. And now let's cut back over to Hoof. And foe. And yeah, the human guard. This one's Kaz. Kaz.

01:01:19

Yeah, that's right. Kaz. Yes.

01:01:21

Kaz.

01:01:24

All right, so we hear all this going on, right?

01:01:27

I don't know what you're talking about. We're coming out through another.

01:01:29

Yeah, we didn't see any of that.

01:01:31

This.

01:01:33

We're going to the other transport. So we're. I guess we're about to run. Run at them. And I'm gonna use move object to move out the. The fire extinguisher.

01:01:46

Okay.

01:01:46

Hoof.

01:01:47

To.

01:01:47

Yeah, to shoot. Yeah, give. Give that a roll. Eighteen.

01:01:54

Okay.

01:01:55

So you're like Diddy Kong, kind of like front holding it, like, running, carrying it. And you come to a point where you throw it out, and because of the zero gravity, it flies out. And then you use the Force to then arc it. Lycan wanted swinging back towards them. It's rushing into the space occupied by these stormtroopers at angle. So they didn't even see it coming. And now Hoof has the opportunity to shoot it.

01:02:25

Doing it.

01:02:25

Okay, okay, 21. Yeah. You shoot that thing, and it, like, explodes out there. And what's even better is that you, like, hit it at angle instead of, like, causing it to just explode completely. It oozes out with, like, a bit of force. So not only does it, like, blind them, but it also is, like, pushing them in, like, weird directions as they walk. Nice.

01:02:52

Rebel.

01:02:53

Rebel.

01:02:54

And rather than having that just, like, fly away, you're, like, maintaining it with the force in that position. So you're actually almost. You're actually aiming the foam at them, and so you can, like, push the, like, individual ones when they try to take steps. Nice.

01:03:07

All right, I guess it's Kaz's turn.

01:03:09

Yeah. All right, so Kaz is now going to shoot at one of them. And you guys, again, have advantage because they're blind, so they're not able to dodge in any way. So he hits and takes a bit of damage or, like, the lead guy. All right, Hoof. It's no Hoof. Pardon me, foe. It's on you.

01:03:27

It's on you.

01:03:28

Do I.

01:03:28

Okay, I. I guess I didn't check on this, but do I have a gun, or do I have to use my staff?

01:03:35

We'll say you grabbed a gun because the staff is melee only, so.

01:03:39

Right.

01:03:40

You'd have a standard blaster.

01:03:42

Okay.

01:03:42

Do I have my staff too, or do I just.

01:03:44

Yes.

01:03:44

Okay, well, I'm gonna first take. Take a shot at this point.

01:03:49

Yeah. So it's just roll 2D6. Is the damage on that?

01:03:52

4.

01:03:54

Okay.

01:03:54

Still good.

01:03:54

Still good. Yeah. So that you're shooting at the front one Y. So he's hit again. And, like, definitely seems to be, like, moving very slowly now. Okay, and now it comes over to poof.

01:04:11

All right,

01:04:13

What do we do next?

01:04:14

Take a shot.

01:04:15

Taking a shot. Let's do it.

01:04:17

Yeah.

01:04:19

Yeah. That front guy is dead. Like, boom. It's just a geyser just coming out of him as he stands there floating away in space. So weirdly, the geyser of blood is actually propelling his body even lower down. So he's, like, kind of kneeling but also still trying to float away. So it's like this weird spittering, scuttering mess of a fountain oozing out the blood.

01:04:42

Nice.

01:04:45

And then Kaz is gonna take a shot, and he hits, and he does a chunk of damage to the guy on the left.

01:04:54

Nice.

01:04:54

So guy on the left, guy on the right, guy in the middle is now just a oozing thing of that. Yeah.

01:04:59

Nice.

01:05:01

All right, I'm gonna go ahead and take another shot.

01:05:04

Okay, you're moving towards him. And one more turn, you would be able to do a melee attack. Okay.

01:05:15

Eight.

01:05:16

Oh, but with advantage.

01:05:17

Right. Still. 12. Okay, you. You hit them, or you hit the guy on the right this time. So it's a different one, but roll for damage.

01:05:31

2D6.

01:05:32

Yep.

01:05:34

4.

01:05:35

4. Okay, so he's taking a hit, but he's still more just confused by the geyser of foam as the other geyser and blood. So he's not super clear on, like, what's going on at this point. Poof, you're up.

01:05:52

Let's fire. Yeah.

01:05:56

Nice. You have an advantage. So you get to roll twice.

01:06:04

One.

01:06:05

Okay, so that is again.

01:06:09

My ears got in the way.

01:06:11

Well, no, but you had advantage. So what was your higher one?

01:06:14

It was a three.

01:06:15

Yes. So you're okay. You just barely.

01:06:19

Five. It's eight.

01:06:20

You just barely avoided critting yourself because of the sequence on that one. That could have Been a problem.

01:06:27

That could have been a problem.

01:06:28

Yeah.

01:06:29

Even at an eight.

01:06:32

Right.

01:06:32

Because he rolled the one is the issue. But because it was an advantage situation.

01:06:35

It's okay.

01:06:36

Otherwise you would have.

01:06:38

I would have been gone.

01:06:39

Yeah.

01:06:40

Floaty did.

01:06:41

Yep.

01:06:43

Slippery gem. Slippery gem is our new fork.

01:06:51

You said couldn't afford me. You hear? Overcome.

01:06:58

Bridget, get off comms.

01:07:01

Misa. Just checking in. Seesaw. How you doing on my ship?

01:07:04

Thank you, sir.

01:07:06

Crispy and clean. No Cappy.

01:07:09

Used to getting the right idea on how to talk. So good.

01:07:16

Dang, that was close,

01:07:20

Kaz.

01:07:20

I guess so. Kaz. Kaz punctures the one on the left in the eye with his blaster shot. Like the helmet is like there's now just a hole and you can kind of just see again, like a geyser of blood just shooting out of this one hole from his head. And there's like purple chunks of brain meats all just shooting out into space and. Yeah, that's a double crit on that one.

01:07:56

Please make the next stormtrooper female who's actually pregnant and we find her,

01:08:03

We suddenly have to realize we do a spot check and realize.

01:08:08

We just took four lives.

01:08:17

Now I'm in range to hit.

01:08:19

Yes. Now you're in range to hit it. And you try to take a swing with your staff. Oh, just punch him.

01:08:29

All right, so. Oh, God, thank you so much.

01:08:32

I have better.

01:08:33

Billy.

01:08:35

So I have nine.

01:08:37

I rolled a nine with the advantage.

01:08:40

Yeah.

01:08:40

Okay. No, I.

01:08:42

Sweet. Straight up miss.

01:08:43

He does miss. So you like, come down. You come down with your staff.

01:08:50

And.

01:08:50

He doesn't see you, but he is just able. He's trying to wipe his face off and just avoids it. All right. And hoof, you're up.

01:09:02

All right.

01:09:03

Am I in melee distance?

01:09:05

You're almost to him.

01:09:06

Yeah, but I have jump. I'm gonna jump on him and punch him in the face.

01:09:11

Okay. This is a very complicated maneuver, especially because we're in space when you're using magnets.

01:09:18

Dude, we've been in space this whole time.

01:09:21

We're on the outside of the ship magnetic boots and the blood is blowing. Awesome. Gunkins don't have a great sense so far their environment once you're out of the water. I thought we out of water. It's a gunking out of water story.

01:09:43

Are you just now understanding why I was giving these, like, elaborate descriptions of like, how blood was awesome?

01:09:48

I'm playing it in my head, actually.

01:09:50

I'm picturing it right now.

01:09:52

He just gets the central detail that it's all supposed to be flying up.

01:09:55

I thought were just running the.

01:09:57

Cameras in slow motion.

01:09:59

This is a Zack Snyder version.

01:10:01

Sounds like somebody needs a spot check.

01:10:03

Spot check.

01:10:08

Great shot.

01:10:09

I'm shooting in space. I'll say this. I'll give you a spot check to see if you can identify anything in particular that you could do something like that kind of jump maneuver. All right, so give me that.

01:10:22

I'm afraid he's gonna jump and never. We'll never see him again.

01:10:26

I didn't even check if I have a string.

01:10:29

You have magnetic boots.

01:10:31

Just kidding.

01:10:33

All right,

01:10:39

15.

01:10:40

Okay. So, yes. You actually have tow lines that you can shoot out. Like, they're wrist. Like the wrist line magnets that are meant for just the kind of situation, like, where if you lost, like, touch with your ship to track on and save your life. Boom. So you are able to do that. It's going to require a roll to successfully not. Or, like, to catch yourself. Like, you might miss. Like, it is not uncommon for someone who gets lost or detached from their ship to fly off into space and die.

01:11:10

Then I will not do this.

01:11:13

I'm not. I'm saying that you have the option, but it's just. It's not an automatic win.

01:11:21

Let's do it.

01:11:22

Okay, so you're the soldier, so give me the jump check first. All right.

01:11:29

19.

01:11:30

Okay, so you leap up into the. Into the vacuum. Just, like, up. And it's incredibly high because there's nothing pulling you back down. And you do a somersault. Now give me an attack roll on the ground. One. Give me a second roll.

01:11:58

20.

01:11:59

Okay, so it leaps through the air, the magnetic disk, and it misses the ground. Like, the arc that you're doing, it whips past, but it goes just past it and connects to the remaining stormtroopers gear. So now give me a. Tumble check tumble to use your momentum to successfully do anything with this. Two. Okay. Oh, no, you're lying.

01:12:49

This is the moment he realized.

01:12:54

You're not able to pull him in any way. You lose the sort of momentum game on this one. And so instead of you get just stuck dangling in the vacuum in the void, tethered to the stormtrooper's backpack.

01:13:11

Nice.

01:13:12

And he's stuck to the ship. So you're tugging at him, but you're just, like, out in space. And now, like, extra weight for him to, like, tug with him as he moves forward to try to kill your friends. You still have time to do an attack roll against him, by the way.

01:13:33

I'm going to really.

01:13:34

After all that. That's amazing.

01:13:37

I'm going to do it's with his other hand.

01:13:40

He gets attack roll for both hands. Yes.

01:13:43

One against that one was just the grappling hook.

01:13:46

Oh, right.

01:13:46

And that. So it's like grappling and trying to get the shot off. Yeah.

01:13:50

That's awesome.

01:13:52

I am a really good shot.

01:13:53

I believe in you, Hoof. I believe in you, sir.

01:13:56

Before you roll for your attack roll, pick where you're going to shoot. You're dangling from his back as he is tethered to the ground, preventing the two of you from flying off into space.

01:14:13

So don't shoot at his feet. Maybe just go for the head.

01:14:18

I'm thinking we're going for the head.

01:14:20

Okay. So that is going to. Because it's smaller than just his general body, it's going to be a harder hit. So give me an attack roll.

01:14:32

You kind of want to get the sound effects for what you're doing while you're on his backpack, by the way.

01:14:39

If that wasn't an image, I don't know what was.

01:14:41

All right, Ben's gonna be like, what just happened?

01:14:45

When hears this.

01:14:48

This is what I missed. Craziness.

01:14:52

Here we go, guys. This is the moment I was born for. 12.

01:15:04

You miss completely. The shot flies past his head and just hits the side of the ship. But it's not a. It's not like a ship grade blaster, so it doesn't do that much damage to it.

01:15:17

Oh, good.

01:15:18

Garth is like, damn it, just fix that.

01:15:25

The hull actually, like, flickers for a second because the shields that Garth had set up actually did protect it from that energy blast.

01:15:34

What's gonna happen?

01:15:35

So we got Kaz.

01:15:38

All right, so Kaz is going to take an attack roll at the head.

01:15:43

Please, Kaz.

01:15:45

And the shot misses also and flings right by. The stormtrooper is, like, freaking out at this whole thing, like, looking back and forth. So I guess if it's. He tries to shoot at Hoof but misses because he's, like, trying to, like, shoot over his back to get at you.

01:16:11

Surprised you missed my ears.

01:16:12

Foe as you're up.

01:16:13

All right, I'm gonna take another swing at this guy.

01:16:15

Okay.

01:16:16

Hopefully it can snap his neck or something.

01:16:21

Oh, Jesus.

01:16:24

Because you're attacking in a melee form, you're not, like, really trying to worry about the same kind of, like, I can't shoot his head like. Or I can't, like, shoot his body.

01:16:33

I don't think that's gonna be relevant.

01:16:35

I'm saying you get advantage Oh, I do.

01:16:37

Oh, thank God.

01:16:38

Please, please. Cause you're just trying to clonk him over the head.

01:16:42

That's a little bit better.

01:16:43

5.

01:16:47

So you don't. You. You swing and you hit.

01:16:56

I'm a lover, not a fighter, guys.

01:16:57

You hit his side, and it's like a pool cue, and it just, like, bounces back off them into you. You don't hit yourself with it in a way that you get hurt, but you are thrown off your footing. You don't hit yourself in the face, but to avoid it, you kind of spin, and you sort of, like, lose your positioning and you stumble back. Poof, you're up.

01:17:20

Oh, God.

01:17:23

Shooting again. Yeah, yeah.

01:17:28

18. Okay. You hit him in the head.

01:17:33

Plus five. Plus five.

01:17:35

You hit him in the head. Give me a blaster check or a damage check with that. The 3D8.

01:17:45

I know, right?

01:17:45

I can hear it. All right.

01:17:53

It is eight plus six, plus seven.

01:17:59

So what does it look like when your blaster shot cracks his helmet.

01:18:04

Head explodes? I don't know. I can't explain it like that. I just.

01:18:08

There's no words to describe it. It's so fantastic.

01:18:11

I can barely see it. I'm still dangling back and forth. My lips are hitting me and my.

01:18:15

Eyeballs like, yes, this is true. Your wobbly eyes are just, like, kind of like shifting back and forth erratically.

01:18:21

That's all I see.

01:18:22

There truly is no words to describe this giant explosion of blood and plastic that is occurring right in front of you. It's a pattern that dazes and mesmerizes you with how visceral the whole thing is.

01:18:35

Nice.

01:18:38

Is what I believe you're trying to say. Exactly.

01:18:42

Just like I wrote it. Just like I wrote it.

01:18:44

So Kaz rushes over to grab the line that's been attached to this guy's back. He tries to grab it and wrestle you down from being, like, 25ft floating in space attached to a corpse that was with magnets clinging to a ship in space. Stupid gun. As the engines are coming online.

01:19:08

Does foe still.

01:19:09

Does not foe.

01:19:10

Does Hoof still have the backpack?

01:19:14

The stormtrooper's backpack?

01:19:16

He's still attached to it. Yes.

01:19:18

So, like, can we take a look what's in it?

01:19:20

Yeah, it's just, like, survival here. There's some grenades, actually. Yeah. So you. You find five grenades. Several of their supply kits are actually intact, even though they're dead because they're still magneted to the ground.

01:19:33

Right.

01:19:34

So you can pick up a heavier blaster. So it'll be 2D8 instead of 2D6.

01:19:38

Well, I was thinking because we are there because they're more troopers, right? Or are those all the troopers?

01:19:44

Those are the ones that were right there. You don't you.

01:19:46

Right, because we still have more to deal with.

01:19:48

Probably. Yeah.

01:19:50

Because I want to take the grenades and see if we can. And I'd like to throw them. Well, to see. Well, just to have them when we cross them.

01:19:58

Yeah, yeah. So you grab their grenades, you grab a stronger blaster than what you had before and you carry on. Now we're going to cut back to Fendir, Regi and the Twi' lek whose name I can remember is Zeff Zephyr. So the three of you are rushing on like, we're gonna get there like Reggie's the man. Reggie knows the fucking shit. Yes, yes,

01:20:29

Reggie is a shit. Did you see all those blood and guts? Oh my God. Oh my God, this is such a rush. Oh God. I wanna know how the other guy's doing.

01:20:38

Come on, beautiful flat faced bastard. We're gonna carry that shot on and in there we're going to win this one for us.

01:20:47

All right, you gorgeous carbon copy. Let's do this.

01:20:53

Woohoo.

01:20:54

Woohoo. I cannot die, for I am already dead.

01:21:02

It's Hammer time.

01:21:10

I don't know if there's a better end of this episode.

01:21:16

I think that is a good spot to end it.

01:21:18

Oh my God. Ben's best out on the couch, Slash. Working on the engines or weapon systems or something right now. We'll find out what happens to the crew as they continue the fight on the hull of the ship in our next episode of the Star Wars D20 series.
